    I was a regular user of Altavista until a coworker pointed out that this new search engine "Google" was much better for finding academic papers. At that time, Google was excellent for academic papers, but useless for most other things.

    You are quoting prices where the patent has expired and a generic is available. Similar prices will be available in the United States when the patent expires in 2021.

    I looked up the price and got $3978 for a 90-day supply. Which seems like a reasonable price when a new drug costs over one billion dollars to develop.

    Rather than complaining about the drug companies you should be complaining about the high costs the FDA imposes on drug companies in order to obtain FDA approval.

    BTW, a generic will be available in 2021.

    Microsoft was charging a fixed fee for each PC sold, regardless of the OS that was installed. Hence, Linux machines had to be more expensive.

    It typically works the other way. The grad student writes the paper and his adviser wants his name included because he "advised".

    Nope. Learn the difference between operating losses versus capital investments. Yes, Tesla is losing money on every car they make.

    And in reality, Tesla has a $14,000 operating loss per car. (not the $4,000 using Telsa's creative accounting.)

    My code was actually working correctly, but the debugger until certain conditions would display wrong values. I wasted a lot of time trying to find the bug in my code.

    This is standard procedure for those writing code for Linux. Off-load your testing to your customers.

    The Linux kernel people never bothered to test their code on Samsung drives. Hence, if the kernel does not work on Samsung drives it is up to Samsung to fix the problem.

    The ONLY way to verify your code works on a piece of hardware is to test it on that piece of hardware!

  23. It is not true the state is free from legal risk. I was in a somewhat similar situation and I was arguing that the contracting company was a sham and I was actually an employee of the original company.

    I received a big check to shut me up.
