I'm a conservative Christian, and I also must say, the Bushites are friggin ridiculous. I mean when I voted against Kerry, it wasn't because Bush is good. It was cause I disagreed with just about every issue on Kerry. Not like its helped, because Bush's crap is almost-as-bad/worse depending on opinion.

I would disagree with impeaching bush, not because he's even half deserving to be president at this point, but only because he really didn't do anything that can be "impeachable". He is just dumb. Stupidity isn't really his fault, its the republican party's fault for choosing such a lackluster candidate. Well there is a shortage of leadership in the republican party to begin with...but lets not go there.

However I do feel that Cheney is a viable target for impeachment because the bastard was one of the two or three guys giving info to the Bush retard sitting on the throne and causing our nation to be in this Iraq quagmire. He's one of the puppeteers trying to pull strings on the dummy. Its worked thus far, but it shouldn't go on. Lets get rid of him while we can! This is our chance to make up for not charging him with attempted manslaughter by shotgun!

What happens in linux sometimes is, especially with those pesky generic LCDs, the refresh rate has to be manually set or the handling is all messed up, or your card isnt supporting a certain resolution. And what you get is that the screen will show you the boot splash, the computer loading, and when its time for your GUI, boom theres just a black screen. And you cant do anything unless you boot into a terminal and configure xserver.xorg by HAND, which let me tell you can be VERY ANNOYING for the everyday user. Of course I'm not the everyday user, but if I were, I'd probably just use windows.

And this is one step closer to Ubuntu becoming mainstream. =]

I'm currently a developer who works with PHP so I've been using a LAMP for a long time now. But I have also used ISS. I'll tell you now, theres no way in HELL the smart average guy who wants to start a server will use ISS first. They'll read everywhere that oh windows shouldnt be used for a development environment unless you purchase the $5000 Server edition, they'll grab a $200 junk machine and put Ubuntu Server installation on it. Instant lamp. Will the configure security and whatnot? As they need. A lamp has become so simple to use its ridiculous to tout ISS as a more "user friendly" option. Sure, GUIs are nice but whats so hard about pulling out text editor and editing a well commented text document? On top of that the out-of-box LAMP like the one that ships with Ubuntu Server is already well configured. And then if you have a debian or ubuntu distro, you just use a simple command, even without a server installation. Really, check this out.

    sudo apt-get install mysql-server mysql-admin apache2 php5 libapache2-mod-php5 libapache2-mod-auth-mysql php5-mysql phpmyadmin
Boom. Headshot. Goodbye IIS, hello workable server. Perhaps big companies want big enterprises to server for "support" reasons. But theres no reason the everyday code junkie WONT use Apache over IIS. IIS more "modular?" "Easier" interface to work with? I dont think that is by far at all. At least, not on a debian linux distro. Even for Fedora/RedHat, you can just yum -install everything. IMHO, the survey must be flawed. Working in the Multi-User Dungeon gaming area, everyone programs in PHP. Its just the smart thing to do. And for PHP, everyone knows you use APACHE. Not IIS. And unless you're asking to be hacked, not Apache on windows. And unless you're rich, not windows server. Point taken.

Ubuntu/Fedora are accused of being "watered down linux." But its good in a way - at least for non-server users. People in general dont like spending a billion years to get stuff installed. People really like apt-get for everything. Or yum install. When it comes to make install ./configure and all that crap, most find it tedious.

However slack is stable, because you configure everything from scratch. It is building every block of your linux system, and people who like that like slackware.

And thats generally the way it goes - its not whether one is better than the other, its if you have time for something like this, if you like something like this and if you feel you need something like this, you will go for slackware. Otherwise stick to your Ubuntu/Xubuntu/Fedora. Cause its really not worth the trouble.
