I'm a noodlist, a branch of pastafarianism. WWFSMD!? the world was created by the touch of his noodly.
and those stupid animals were destroyed for their insolence!
Agreed. At any rate, I switched to comcast this past week, from Verizon DSL. Partly because Verizon has ZERO customer service. That, and they promise me 3mbps and I'm lucky to be getting.5 or maybe 1 on a good day.
Google Verizon Customer Service and you'll see what I mean.
"The Wall Street Journal today reports that the new XO laptop, centerpiece of the One Laptop Per Child project, is stimulating an active response from both Intel and Microsoft, in bed."
And if you do it to some of the comments, it is completely hilarious, in bed.
I'm a conservative Christian, and I also must say, the Bushites are friggin ridiculous. I mean when I voted against Kerry, it wasn't because Bush is good. It was cause I disagreed with just about every issue on Kerry. Not like its helped, because Bush's crap is almost-as-bad/worse depending on opinion.
I would disagree with impeaching bush, not because he's even half deserving to be president at this point, but only because he really didn't do anything that can be "impeachable". He is just dumb. Stupidity isn't really his fault, its the republican party's fault for choosing such a lackluster candidate. Well there is a shortage of leadership in the republican party to begin with...but lets not go there.
However I do feel that Cheney is a viable target for impeachment because the bastard was one of the two or three guys giving info to the Bush retard sitting on the throne and causing our nation to be in this Iraq quagmire. He's one of the puppeteers trying to pull strings on the dummy. Its worked thus far, but it shouldn't go on. Lets get rid of him while we can! This is our chance to make up for not charging him with attempted manslaughter by shotgun!
Perhaps its the changes they're doing on the site internal stuff. I noticed on aug 30th that their logo changed on my "donate" button =D
or perhaps its the fact that they did internal stuff that caused problems.
that annoyed me a little because I liked the old one, but thats offtopic so I wont elaborate:D
What happens in linux sometimes is, especially with those pesky generic LCDs, the refresh rate has to be manually set or the handling is all messed up, or your card isnt supporting a certain resolution. And what you get is that the screen will show you the boot splash, the computer loading, and when its time for your GUI, boom theres just a black screen. And you cant do anything unless you boot into a terminal and configure xserver.xorg by HAND, which let me tell you can be VERY ANNOYING for the everyday user. Of course I'm not the everyday user, but if I were, I'd probably just use windows.
And this is one step closer to Ubuntu becoming mainstream. =]
I'm currently a developer who works with PHP so I've been using a LAMP for a long time now. But I have also used ISS. I'll tell you now, theres no way in HELL the smart average guy who wants to start a server will use ISS first. They'll read everywhere that oh windows shouldnt be used for a development environment unless you purchase the $5000 Server edition, they'll grab a $200 junk machine and put Ubuntu Server installation on it. Instant lamp. Will the configure security and whatnot? As they need. A lamp has become so simple to use its ridiculous to tout ISS as a more "user friendly" option. Sure, GUIs are nice but whats so hard about pulling out text editor and editing a well commented text document? On top of that the out-of-box LAMP like the one that ships with Ubuntu Server is already well configured.
And then if you have a debian or ubuntu distro, you just use a simple command, even without a server installation. Really, check this out.
Boom. Headshot. Goodbye IIS, hello workable server. Perhaps big companies want big enterprises to server for "support" reasons. But theres no reason the everyday code junkie WONT use Apache over IIS. IIS more "modular?" "Easier" interface to work with? I dont think that is by far at all. At least, not on a debian linux distro. Even for Fedora/RedHat, you can just yum -install everything.
IMHO, the survey must be flawed. Working in the Multi-User Dungeon gaming area, everyone programs in PHP. Its just the smart thing to do. And for PHP, everyone knows you use APACHE. Not IIS. And unless you're asking to be hacked, not Apache on windows. And unless you're rich, not windows server.
Point taken.
We should name him baloo. You know, that bear from "The Jungle Book"
Balmer dances like a wild monkey onstage and shouts louder than a Cebu (a waterbuffalo kind of cow thingy)
Ubuntu/Fedora are accused of being "watered down linux." But its good in a way - at least for non-server users. People in general dont like spending a billion years to get stuff installed. People really like apt-get for everything. Or yum install. When it comes to make install./configure and all that crap, most find it tedious.
However slack is stable, because you configure everything from scratch. It is building every block of your linux system, and people who like that like slackware.
And thats generally the way it goes - its not whether one is better than the other, its if you have time for something like this, if you like something like this and if you feel you need something like this, you will go for slackware. Otherwise stick to your Ubuntu/Xubuntu/Fedora. Cause its really not worth the trouble.
just get a bunch of old computers, cluster them, and every time the server load gets larger, add another old computer from the junkyard. Parallel computing at its finest.
I mean sure, Microsoft charges alot, but is it right to justify a "Selfless act" of pirating their software for other people by saying its GOOD for the company? "Selfless act" my ass. Stealing software for yourself is one thing, stealing software for people so that they will come to your business is just downright low and senseless. How would m$ stay afloat if they let these little guys fly? Then what if dell started installing pirated m$ for free, claiming that they're doing a "Selfless act"? wtf?
and in all honesty I'm no m$ lover or user, I'm a proud user of Ubuntu since dapper (now I'm using feisty), which is probably why I dont care that M$ charges. If you dont want to pay them for their work, use linux. Dont be dumb. Business is business, no matter how much you hate a company. There are alternatives. "Too expensive for the indian market"? Tough luck, world economy you bimbo.
I agree, and on top of that, it doesnt solve anything. a good phisher can write a script that mails an email that looks like its from that TLD, then direct the unsuspecting guy to some http://201.493.292.102/paypalprocess.phtml?id=blah blabhalbhlabhlablh, and it'd fool the average john doe.
NG.
First off they must mean a net gain in energy. You put energy into setting things up but then it just creates energy from then on. They also said it could power a cell phone while producing 4x power to the cel phone or something...
Problem being I dont think they're creating energy. I think they're taking energy from earth's magnetic field. In which case, we're doomed cause we depend on magnetism.
Lets just pretend this thing never existed and get back to our unproductive lives.

Where's the ACLU? They should be all over this guy already, defending him lol.

1 day down, 17 months and 30 days to go.
Oh how I look forward to the day I can fit the linux distros of the world on a usb key!

I hate when people do that.

that Novell would have to suffer though? Sure they earned money from m$ but is that so bad? they shouldnt have gpl3 hurt novell imho.

mod it down, flamebait!!!
FLAMEBAIT.
I for one welcome our rich core2duo intel-ligence overlords.
Oh and if you guys havent noticed nVidia cards are kicking serious ATI butt. the only ATI card winning in any given category is the x1400.
If they do recover the emails, they'll just show every email they've got EXCEPT the incriminating ones.
Instead of letting them try to find the emails, why doesnt the judge require an external source to find the email...?
I, for one, welcome our m$windoze overlord.
