This stuff is the fucking java holy grail. I develop mostly java applications and was always astonished that there is no way to lazily load the core libs as separate parts and not as a huge stinky whole. Sure, once it's loaded, it's fast, but I really would prefer a faster load of the needed classes and small hiccups when I dynamically try to load a partial lib.
They softened their standards. You can block violent games on your Wii, you know, so there is no problem anymore. Sure most parents do not know it's possible, still, it's there.
Furthermore, mature gaming is still a big target. That's why there are FPSes on Wii too. When the kids are sleeping, daddy raids the baddies.
And don't forget: european games are mostly localized from the US versions because it's cheaper to translate or adapt from english. Whenever US censors games, Europe gets the same treatment. I had the censored Maniac Mansion and the censored Castlevania.
I really like this nethackish feeling in Maniac Mansion. If a thing is stupid enough for you to try, the devs have probably already thought about it. I did not know about that one.
By superimposing a background over the blank DAS grid, the Newcastle University researchers have created a system called BDAS: Background Draw a Secret. This helps users remember where they began the drawing they are using as a password and also leads to graphical passwords that are less predictable, longer and more complex.
Have you already tried to compile Sun's Java? It's a painful mess. I tried it once for OpenBSD, never again... Far too much stuff to compile, needs several GB of free space.
Only one problem : I cannot draw two identical signatures. Sure the general style matches, but it's absolutely different. I imagine I am not the only one.
I can perfectly picture it : "Cannot log in, not matching signature".
The main point, I guess, is probably about who bought these BluRay players. Early adopters and PS3 players, mostly, I guess. I think that HD-DVD may have its way to the mass market, because its names says dvd and these will be soon really cheap, as cheap as DVD players. I mean, if you were the average Joe and have to choose between a regular DVD player and a HD-DVD player in the same cheap price range, which one would you buy? HD-DVD is not about fast adoption, it's more about progressive integration.
Exactly. The official implementation is not the most used one. Therefore it does not matter if it changes. The open source Azureus and the others whatever-torrent will not be affected. I mean, they were already non-official extensions to the protocol, such as DHT, web seeds,... The protocol has been out of BitTorrent Inc. hands for much time now. Few will follow them if they change it.

Thanks for the spoiler about the secret path in the screenshot...

It's retrogaming, dude. Of course it's a dupe!

I am pretty sure that a radioactive swimming pool would heat it.
PS3 lacks good games, PC doesn't. It's definitely a downgrade.
Nothing's more useful than the useless.
I am a vampire/wereworlf/FilthBook user on Facebook and without APIs, I'd starve/sing/mast****** to death, you insensitive clod!
Glad to see that even slashdot does not lack crack-smoking dumbasses.

Nothing to see, move along.
What about the damn ringtones? It's the major annoyance, more than any loud guy.
That's where tentacle rape comes in. Let's mate with strange looking monsters!
It was not a development machine, it was my old cyrix 233 machine. There are watches more powerful than this stuff...
They created Speedy Gonzales? Let's make a real Road Runner (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roadrunner) next time! Nature definitely sucks.
Napster lacks marketing. They do not have the iTunes fuzz factor, they are not well advertised. In a nutshell: they have all it takes to fail.

What!? Goatse came from 50+ years old people? Now that's a dirty picture...

Oops.
"The provider does not even have to sell it. Don't forget that we are in the golden leak-age." would be much better.
