    Obviously, there are RINO's that support such legislation, and a few straggling christian hardliners that haven't jumped on the "victim" bandwagon yet.

    Conservatism, however, the republican platform (or what used to be), has no room for such a largess of government involvement. If it does not present a clear and present danger, government shall make no law...

    I know, I know...no-one here can see beyond the last 30 seconds. It's OK, though. The "Bail-Out" included new legislation that will very likely lead to the very same issues 10-15 years down the road.

    No, a RINO is a "republican" who does not vote as a true Conservative. Fiscal Conservatism, Social Conservatism, limited government.

    Any Repub who raises taxes for social programs? RINO.

    Any repub who votes for morality-based legislation? RINO.

    Voting for more government power? RINO.

    Tesla makes cars. They've shipped quite a few (by their standards, amounts to a few dozen), and there is one in our area.

    These aren't prototypes. They are production vehicles and they are currently on the roads. They are, unfortunately, limited in production, and high in cost.

    Seriously...

    One has to wonder. When has Google ever, upon first release, released *anything* other than "speed and spartan"?

    You guys seem to be under the impression that Google has changed it's ways or been bought up by another company, seeing as how you all seem to be expecting something entirely un-Google-like for their first browser release.

    Their search engine? Sure, it's full of nifty features and such *now, but when it first came out? A single text box. No image search, no book search, no personalized homepage... Just a spartan interface and excellent results.

    Their email? You're kidding me, right? GMail may have IMAP and PoP now, but when it was first released? Nothing. Basic email functionality with excellent search capabilities, conversational email style, and a new way of organizing your mail (labels). Nothing fancy. No RSS, no chat...basic, spartan...

    Why on Earth would you expect *more* from their browser? Do the past releases of Google created apps mean *nothing* to you? Are you all incapable of thinking more than 10 seconds into the past?

    Sheesh....

    Welcome to the ADHD generation, I guess...

    Hmmm...

    A vanilla browser....with basic functionality...with some innovative caveats.

    Nope, sounds *exactly* like something Google would produce (and anyone with realistic expectations might expect).

    Remember: Gmail wasn't exactly "feature rich" when it was launched...neither was their search engine.

    Too many people see these services as they are *now* and expect any new release by Google to have *at least* that amount of functionality. ...that's just not the way Google works. Basics first, trial and testing, add a feature here, tweak a feature there, trial and testing ad infinatum.

    I read the blog. Been a member since it's inception.

    Nowhere does it say they *are* going to disable any of the functionality. They intend to make it more intuitive, provide more useful information, and the like, but the main "dailing down" is being done by third-party devs actually *coding* to avoid UAC prompts. (Not requiring admin privs, not installing to protected folders, not accessing protected folders...etc)

    If you don't want tracking, don't check the box during install;

    Even if you *did* check the box, you can go into "incognito" mode to avoid sending usage statistics.

    looks like Google already had that covered and it looks like this edition covered here is solely for those who refuse to use anything with a "Google" tag on it.

    Principles, teachers, and members of school boards are not government employees nor do they fall under any umbrella of government.

    Vista gaming is now on par with XP.

    When devs begin getting more comfortable with DX10, it will improve even more. You can already see a difference between the first DX10 titles (no more than DX9 badly ported to DX10) to what has been recently released.

    I know you're just trolling, but someone might actually be dumb enough to have read and believed your BS.

    He's changed his mind. On an issue he was once against, he is now for.

    OK. On it's face, no big.

    Now look at all those folks who are planning on voting for him. Does this raise any questions? Do they perhaps wonder what *else* he might change his mind on? Does this signal some political or philosophical change of mindset that could easily affect any number of his past ideals?

    Sure, it may seem gonzo to question his entire belief system based on one change of view, but this is an election year. *Everything* these people do, say, or write will be blown "out of proportion" and looked at under the magnifying glass.

    Of course the Anti-Obama crowd is going to jump on it, just as the Anti-Mccain crowd would likewise jump on such wavering on his part.

    Stop acting like this is something new or different or that it is somehow uncalled for. Even AC's can't be that stupid and blind.

    That was kinda the whole point. They have speed traps set up on that road quite frequently. It's not a money grab, it's a safety issue. I don't know where you live, but limits are usually placed depending on average amounts of traffic, methods and numbers of entry and exit points, number of lanes, condition, etc... People consistently being reported as breaking those limits generate a speed trap. But hey, don't let me change your views or try to insert logic into it. Paranoia does wonders to keep people's minds off of other issues...

    Trying to curb the constant and willful violation of speed limits? Seriously. There is a frontage road near my home that parallels a freeway. When traffic is heavy, you will *very* often see people driving at speeds in excess of 60 on a 40MPH, single-lane (each direction) side street. Just because they are all going 60 doesn't make it safer. Not for the driver, and *definitely* not for the pedestrians.
