so where does it go after 18 microseconds? Get zapped into some parallel universe where only theoretical particles can survive?

  3. Re:Total Body Replacement? on Toys You Control With Your Brain · · Score: 0

don't count on any real technology soon. The problem is that the brain doesn't have a language. People learn things differently and certain neural connections mean one thing to one person and another thing to another person. Outside of the pretty much useless technology of detecting the amplitude of brain waves, there really won't be any really cool advances in this I think.

very true, also their comment about Microsoft undermining the unix businesses is not a very good one. With introducing an actual affordable solution for startup companies without having to search for and pay for unix gurus, this fueled a lot of startup companies that wouldn't have had the initial capital to get started. It also helped with small networks who were stuck in the world of novel networks which were also expensive to maintain.

After reading the article, it doesn't seem that it uses the HTTP headers, it appears to use actual URL parameters, which is probably 100x worse. Either way, if it sends plain text passwords, that's just idiotic.

  8. To be fair on Microsoft Family Safety Filter Blocks Google · · Score: 1

Well, to be fair, you can do a google image search and find tons of vulgar images when it wasn't intended in your search, so it probably makes sense that someone wanting to filter all this from their kids would have it blocked and use MS's own search engine which they are responsible for.

  12. What we should really do on PRS Demands License Fee To Play Music To Horses · · Score: 0

Come on people, we can survive without music for maybe 6 months. That should be long enough to bring them to their knees. If we stopped listening to radio and buying music online or in stores, this would stop all of their craziness when the radio stations go out of business because they were trying to bleed us dry.
