Not really. When these plants where build, zero thought went into decommissioning considerations. So nothing was really "foreseen". Sure some guy pulled a number out of his arse, but everyone in the know knew that. I am more pro nuke than not. But one thing is for sure. There is very little to back up it's claimed economic viability. We simply don't have enough experience with decommissioning and long term waste management yet.
Any diver worth his salt knows that there is no such thing as a random buoy in the ocean. And you always check up to date charts. They are there for a reason, its your job to know the bloody reason.
You jest. But i would be surprised if they did run Linux. I would expect proper certified real time OS that have proper life critical testing as part of their life cycle.
Many of the EU auto makers have been sinking massive amounts of R&D into this, but i did sign NDAs... They are making announcements because they are getting ready to show you something. No automakers wants to be left without some IP/Patent/Whatever to bring to the table and not be left out in the cold. They see the writing on the wall. In 20 years you won't be allowed to drive on public roads. Take it to the race track.
Sorry grandpa this is not for your generation, your out of touch. you probably complain that people use facebook and cell phones. We don't even call them cell phones anymore.
Slightly OT, but one economist I know gave a great quote "Humans don't understand exponential curves". Current economic models have asserted, just because that you must always have growth. Now a strong argument can be made that the size of an economy is closely tied to energy consumption/production. A finite solar system/galaxy etc cannot support any such growth for very long.
It can see in all 360 compared to a very narrow specific view.
It can see with radar, in rain hail and snow.
It has reaction times measured in millionths of a second compared to mere tenths of a second or even longer.
It does not get angry.
It does not get impatient.
it is never tired.
it *never* speeds with the mistaken idea that it is better than all other drivers.
it is never stoned or drunk.
it is never texting.
it is never adjusting the stero.
it is never distracted.
It can model car dynamics and adjust for road conditions 1000s of times a second.
It is hands down better at driving that a evolved monkey.
Of course, most humans would have the common sense to...
Where the fuck are these amazing humans everyone here keeps talking about? Because they are not here in the real world. Just work at an insurance company on claims for one week.
Humans are crap drivers and do not generally or even specifically exhibit any such "common sense".
The first class sections and cabins in all the long haul flights I am in are full. The Business sections are also full. It is about 1300EUR one way to NZ for the cheap seats. The cabin is more than 10000EUR! and even business class is stupid expensive. You could change what you want for a far faster flight. It will be full.
No matter what you do, fuel cost will be higher. It is in the physics of going faster than sound. So it will always be less efficient per passenger mile.
You know there are a lot of us who take such flights many times a year. There is a market. We know because people paid it for the old SST, which was profitable if you leave out the R&D cost that did balloon a bit.
I have had no problems at all. I get the same performance as my window friends. What terrible 3d drivers are you talking about. Some bullshit free as in freedom Stallman approved driver and hardware? Cus my Nvidia kicks arse on linux.
You fear we are hitting a point. Anything to back that up? Anything at all other than so idiot on the internet thinks that it different this time. Ignore the other 100 times.
Shh. GP thinks he/she has a original and insightful observation about the DOOOM of the future. Whatever you don't tell them that people like themsleves have been making this point, incorrectly, for centuries.
You can't make it that difficult. It takes just one person, or group to rip something. And via the internet all 1Billion internet uses can get it. A lot of the black hats do it for the fun and challenge. Not because it is worth it. Mark my words. UHD disks will be ripped and torrented like the rest.
And no matter what you do, intercepting the signal sent directly to the screens (via LVDS twisted pair typically) is not that hard if you know your stuff. And their is a lot people who know their stuff.
Of course about 2/3 of the torrents will be transcoded to 700MB and look like shit. It seems about 80% of the internet is legally blind. But meh.
What do you mean turn? We already are. After all i am picking up a 200% increase in radiation where i am sitting right from yesterday! OMG the RAYS are killing me.
Of course sea level rise is far more important to me. Since well i am going to live for many centuries and own like a million acres of seaside property:D.
It works far better it turns out. But the great thing with the 5 blade one is that it last far longer. I also shave my head with it. So it gets a full workout at least every second day.
HDMI does have some of its own copy protection. It has pretty strict/messy timings which occasionally mean some devices don't work together. Also in a pinch you can intercept the LVDS links inside a monitor/TV as well.

You realize he probably has like 100 accounts and votes himself up.....

Plenty of things are stronger than steel. For any given definition of stronger.
Even better, just paint exit doors.
Explains Nothing at all. And these measurements prove it.

they are too busy watching moves and playing games on their computers.
Us tall people already *do* pay more for leg room. Most airlines these days will not let you pick the fire exit rows without paying extra.

Well i am looking at getting 4k monitor. And do have a 5 bladed razor and it does a good job.
