Congratulations and best of luck in your future employment. I wanted to agree with you about some of your stance on admitting when you do not know something. I'm a CS major (junior year) and I have been told by professors that it is always safer to admit that you do not/ may not know the answer to something versus saying you know when your understanding could be incomplete. What is the worst thing that can happen, you are told something you already know? That is better than working on a project with insufficient tools. Additionally, I really liked some of the responses to the parent article. I think the author's tone is completely uncalled for and that a closed minded attitude like that will obviously *not* attract intelligent talent. When I graduate I will seek an entry level position such as what you are applying for, and I will be sure that it is in a work environment where I can learn and further develop my skills and be treated as inferior simply because I've encountered new information.
I agree with the previous posters, social networking is over. I only have a myspace account because my friends refuse to give it up and I have no other means of contacting them. I hold an unparalleled hatred for that site and spite my friends for duping me into participation. Social networking became quite homogonized last year, really. It's the same people talking about the same stuff, the only difference is that every iteration seems to be more fruitless and frivolous. It actually pains me to write this and I would not participate here save for the fact that the speed of news on this site is unparalleled. So, kudos to the group on that one.
I've been playnig final fantasy since I was about 12 and have many fond memories on the game. I have to agree with (cmdrtaco?) about the game's excellence and also about ps3....i won't buy one until they have final fantasy on it, which thankfully after the release of 12 will probably be a while. I'd additionally have to say that 12 is a great recovery from a botched 10-2 story line and that it's utilization of the ps2 graphics are remarkable. I'm 'temporarily away' from my ps2 concole which puts my ff12 on pause and it is killing me!!! Damn playstation and your region encrypting....grrrrr..... yet another reason to one day look forward to ps3.
I think SL is more of a e-commerce han any sort of gme, what do you think? I haven't played it beyond a few lindens because it's just not quest oriented enough, like WoW. What do yo think? Have you played a lot of SL?
The fact that it is both the heaviest element and a noble gas is amazing. An atom's "stability" is derived not from the nucleus, but from the comdition of its outer orbital Uuo's electron shells look like this perhaps [Rn] 5f14 6d10 7s2 7p6. the 7th p shell...which would say it is stable (it is a noble gas after all), however this was actually detected by it's decay due to the fact that it is unstable...? Either way, it is interesting and hopefully it can be captured in a more stable form and utilized before we get too excited about it.
I'd have to agree with you there. I also find that it's the ability to use your language of choice to solve a problem in an efficient and innovative way. Just like speaking any foriegn language fluently...sort of.
I'm definitely with you there, tetris is awesome and has consumed a considerable portion of my waking life. I think the rest of my faves would have to be as follows
1)any final fantasy
2)ratchet and clank series
3)fable the lost chapters
4)tetris
5)myst series
That's a really good point. For those of us that have the sense *not* to answer to phishing...we will end up paying for people with too much paranoia and too little common sense to keep thier banking info safe! Our banking costs would rise to cover the cost of the phishee's mistake, and how is that fair to me? If people have to pay for thier own carelessness with personal information then they will have to get smarter about it. And realistically, why do many people fall victims to a phish? Could it be because they're trying to make thier millions with the nigerian spammer? So, who should foot the bill for thier greed..... not me, I think....
Roflmao! thunk pad! That's great. What is the major advantage of the think pad, anyways? I mean, definitely not to knock it, but I paid less than half what that costs for an Asus a3h that's 1)easy to upgrade 2)great for travel conferencing (i.e., built in mike and cam) 3)Basically the same in hardware specs. Is it just a casing durability that adds the other thousand onto the thinkpad? I don't have dual core in my asus, but everything else is about the same... Just wondering. Ciao!
