The Podcast, Freedom Socks, has released an interview with Matt Lee, FSF campaigns manager, on the subject of the Stephen Fry video.
It's interesting, the hosts put some interesting questions to him about the video.

"a few fsf diehards"... Actually there are quite a few, and most of us aren't diehards like you describe either.
I reviewed gnewsense a while ago. It sounds like you haven't! You probably should try it! It's actually pretty good:)
You obviously haven't ever used it.
I encountered this debate, and to solve it, reviewed it! I found it pretty good!
You now can get IceCat.
I don't find gNewSense any more hard to get along with than $foo distribution.
Thanks to Asheesh Laroia, Tim Dobson, Jason Hoffman, Steve Pomeroy, Matt Mullenweg, FooCorp/Bytemark Hosting and Paul Robinson for providing these mirrors.
I dont ever use windows now.
whats the point when ubuntu gnu/linux survives having bricks thrown at it with no AV.
In the past I have found clamAV is very effective for removing windows viruses, I even use it on liveCDs when the host system wont work.
but seriously, give ubuntu another go guys.
a thousand internets for the first link to a working mirror
two thousand internets for everyone who subsequently mirrors it
ten thousand internets for the first person to get it hosted on apple.com
I got in trouble for using torpark a while back.
of course... the purpose of torpark is slightly different (bypassing RM content filtering) to access Gmail.
I've got sympathy for this kid, what ever the degree of truth behind it.
I'm pretty sure we produce more games now than in the 90's; Why are there fewer "classics" these days? Logically there should be more. (though I accept there are probably reasons why this is not the case.)
the same is ture in the US. your providor will typically provide a WWW gate where you can send SMS's. sometimes you can even email sms.
In the uk, websites such as adsar.co.uk and cbfsms.com prevail however, o2.co.uk provides user 10 free texts/month

And "Windows" is a sensible name?
With all the possible jokes about windows breaking?
Get Real!

If they are already proficient with Photoshop, pimp Gimpshop to them.
Otherwise, like you say, show them, The GIMP with some good tutorials.
