This is not unique to Microsoft, when I bought MacBook Air it had regular kernel panics until a firmware updated fixed issues with graphics drivers. Ironically until the firmware update running Windows 10 via boot camp was more stable....

For video editing the software makes a huge difference as well. Is there anything for Windows or Linux with even remotely close performance to Final Cut Pro? I am yet to see it but open to suggestions, adobe premier is about 12x slower, whether run on Mac or Windows
Final Cut Pro totally blows away all PC video editing software in terms of performance I've tried. To be fair it also blows away performance of other video editing software on MacOS. For example rendering a video on Adobe Premier on Mac might take 6 minutes, but 30 seconds in Final Cut Pro. If someone built video software optimised at same level as Final cut Probfor Windows or Linux then that would be great, but for now I'm yet to see it
Risks slowing down touch typing with layout constantly changing, extra cost, potential reliability issues...feature maybe Ok for consumer laptop but for pros it seems more disadvantage to me
Same for me...micro payments totally turned me off mobile games, I pretty much have none on my phone now despite regularly purchasing games in the past. I don't mind buying comes... Hate the constant upsell...
Plenty of EA's are totally clueless, have no idea what they're doing, but are great at feeding buzzwords with an extra helping of BS to the CIO. However the EA can be a valuable and worthwhile position, but you need a good CEO to select a good CIO who selects a good EA...pretty rare occurrence in my experience
Lack of interest in voting is primarily caused by poor choice of candidates. Trying to chose the lesser of two evils is such a hassle. Source: my opinion.
In Australia we have compulsary voting, it just wastes my time... I have to walk to the voting place, wait in lines, look at various party billboards full of empty promises, just to get my name ticked off a list to avoid a fine...all just to drop an empty ballot....
The problem is even if you are lucky enough to find a politician with wonderful sounding promises, there is the track record of election campaign promises to remember....
As I was homeschooled, my person experience - it was excellent. As for arguments against "social experiences / mono culture" I would argue that depends on the environment, as schools do not necessarily promote great social culture/etc.
In high school years I selected all my own course material,, this allowed me to do college level computer science courses during high school, I was doing C and x86 assembly, and programming EPROM chips, while my friends in local schools were lucky if they got an Apple ][ with a basic interpreter. I also used the flexible times to work on many projects outside my school - programming jobs, volunteer as stage manager for amateur theatre company / etc.
For me the major question to home school is... is the child self motivated? If you are passionate about learning & study, home schooling offers far opportunities for development than is possible in a structured school experience. It allows you to take on far more advanced levels in your areas of passion / interest and to spend more time on areas you may struggle with. It is also important to ensure you get involved in other groups outside your school - i.e. special interest groups/amateur theatre/sports teams/etc.
Will I home school my own kids? I'm not against it, but don't have plans as yet. If I become unhappy with local schools, then this will probably motivate me to homeschool my kids.
If you are using GUI desktop Windows 7 or 8.1 is way more stable then many popular Linux GUIs, unless you load up your Windows machine with crapware / adware. Unfortunately most windows machines come preloaded with crap.
"most-liked photos didn’t allow users to choose which photos they want to highlight" Well yes you could change the photos. And they were never shared publicly unless you wanted to share them. Finally you never had to see them at all, by not clicking the year in review link facebook had generated for you...
Companies always put more qualifications as "required" in the job as then they actually need. My advice is to not worry about the required qualifications, pretty much every IT job I've had I did not have all the "required" items but still got job
An incredible Number of windows developers do not know how to check versions. I.e if major>=5 AND minor>=1. In this case there are apps that check version by retrieving the OS name string I.e Windows 7. This was a popular but incorrect way to check if running on Windows 9x

Pretty much my feeling after experimenting with LibreOffice for a few weeks. Such a painful user experience vs Office 2016

There is already black market for cigarettes developing here in Australia...
The cameras will help you a lot once you're on the way to the morgue...
That's then point...Final Cut Pro is only on MacOS, nothing on Windows comes close to Final Cut Pro performance

Add the RAID support. Problem solved.
Yep this waste exists in private sector, but multiply by a factor of 1000 to get government style waste
So just like the YouTube model, the artist gets paid by the ads ...

Yup but this is not Hollywood. in Hollywood probably the producer would be fired "whaaaat you couldn't get our star a hot meal..."
