We should let President Trump decide what is allowed on sites like Facebook and Slashdot. That way there's no more "enemy of the people." He knows what's best for us.
How would you like to test a live virus herpes vaccine without the dealing with all those cumbersome FDA regulations?

That was just about as stupid a move as a person can make in business. It's likely to have killed any hope they had of success. Denis Grisak might or might not be decent at technical matters, but he should never have any interaction with customers, and probable should not be included in business decisions.
A couple of days ago this is was emailed to employees at a federal research facility. Nothing is to be released until the some sort of "Ministry of Truth" is established to filter science. Scary.
"Hello again All - Starting immediately and until further notice, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx will not release any public-facing documents. This includes, but is not limited to, news releases, photos, fact sheets, news feeds, and social media content.
"Please contact Director of Communications xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx with any questions about this guidance. Please also transmit to your employees as soon as feasible."
This is about investment banking, not the retail banking most of us use. You remember investment banks, don't you? The ones that were too big to fail a few years ago after branching out into areas with little or no regulation?
That should have been done years ago. It's stupid to keep something unique, important, and easily duplicated in a single country.
The "Trump" point is that some people think he's got a low regard for constitutional rights, and will pack the Supreme Court to this end. This could make it possible (and legal) for the government to effectively revise history by editing the archives.
The paper is behind a paywall, so I can only speculate. I suspect the authors might be confusing weather with climate.
The increase in temperature we've experienced so far is minimal when you look at it in terms of geographic latitude. In other words, the climate is a few degrees warmer when you go south a couple hundred miles. This doesn't prevent forest fires in British Columbia or cause them in New Mexico.
El Nino has made much more difference lately.
Akamai is throwing away a great marketing opportunity and turning it into a huge negative. Why would I move to Akamai, knowing that they'll kick me off their network if I ever have trouble? They're throwing away their primary competitive advantage with one stupid decision.
Global warming is affecting the ocean and waves and that affects the islands, but the islands were definitely not submerged. They were eroded, which can occur for a lot of reasons.
It's kind of funny that one of the islands rose by 60 cm because of an earthquake.
I see the opposite. Maybe people tend to become more moderate, with less "fire in the belly" as they get older. Whether that's socially more liberal or conservative depends on where they started.

The Indian satellite is a little over half the weight of the GPS satellite SpaceX intends to launch (9,700 lbs).
That is 100% correct.
1. Calories digested - calories burned = fat.
Incidentally...
2. Correlation <> causation.
I'd buy one, but it won't run Windows 7.

Apparently the crap we have now. I haven't seen a new user-friendly interface for 15 or 20 years. And get off my lawn!
Amazon is not the one responsible for this. It's the idiot who didn't bother to secure the data. Amazon just gets attention in the headline.
Why no secure backups? Idiots.

Lower prices are terrifying? That's one sensational headline. Is Slashdot trying to take over Gawker's business?
It's not April 1 yet, is it? I'd add more, but I need to update my MySpace profile.
"Just think how much money we'll save on tech support and development when the application doesn't do anything at all!"
This does NOT abide by the party line. Our federal government will NOT allow it.

What's wrong with the way it is now?
"it's" It's a good thing your grammar wasn't used in the writing of the article.

How many trees are normally dead? There are lots of dead trees in any forest.
