I am Essjay
I am posting this from behind Tor due to a concern for my life. The truth is that I am a member of the Gay Nigger Assocation of America. This is both a religion and a lifestyle for me, and I was working my way up to the top of Wikipedia as a sleeper agent to be used in a time of need.
My role for the GNAA was to rig the structure of Wikipedia like a chain of dominoes, so that when the time was right our leader could push over the first one of sorts, in whichever form it might take, merely by erecting his black member; we would replace every article with an icon, and make national news in the process.
I tell all of you this as my failure has re-inspired my belief in god, and in the idea that one day that white men such as many of us might not all end up as dead, uprooted links in the ultimate evolution of the human race. Thank you and god bless. -
Re:Wait...Sarbanes-Oxley is dead. The administrative overhead has been installed, but CEOs are invulnerable as ever. Google for Scrushy, the ex-CEO of Healthsouth and the first CEO to be prosecuted under SO. He walked away scoff-free, thanks to a catfight between an incompetent prosecutor and a corrupt judge (who befriended the culprit's daughter and rode horses in his stables), a lawyer doing the chewbacca defense and a late conversion to a black church, with sizeable donations and all. Stuff of a book and a movie.
Sorry, posting anon because RS is no saint.

Re:You get sued by Marvel.
Not any more, because Marvel is getting creamed in the City Of Heroes Lawsuit.

Re:Bubble Reality
Bah. For every New York taxi driver, there is an Alabama youth pastor sending the kids out to violate the Eighth Commandment.
And don't forget the prime bipartisan example of supressing cognitive dissonance.
The illusions are on both sides. Equally. By design.

Re:Air travel
I'm using Firefox with cookies and javascript switched off. I probably should've clarified some: al.com's badness only shows up when you try to navigate through the site. Linking to an article is no problem. Try to execute a search or go anywhere from the main page and you'll quickly see what I mean.
Times Daily did). -
Re:Air travel
We have a case here where an honor student was seen taking a Motrin tablet for her PMS cramps and the school officials want to send her to an alternative school.
Here's a link to that story for those interested. -
2 s econd fix...
Disassemble the app, find the "find the currency" algorithm, force it to noop or branch always around the check, and you are done. Yep, if you know assembly, the world is your oyster.
Or do they think that crackers don't exist?
This isn't going to stop REAL counterfeiters, this is just going to raise the bar for entry.
In my mind, that's not a bad idea. Considering that if you print up dollar bills with your face on it and say "vote for me!" for a middle-school student election will get the FBI on you *, this may be a good thing. It will stop average joes from getting hassled by the FBI and wasting the FBI's time.
*-actually, the link is about an Econ project, not about an election. Still, its pretty funny in that "our country is going down the tubes!" way. -
Re:Address
Richter, Scott srich10195@al.com
That should probably read:
Richter, Scott srich10195@AOL.com
al.com is something completely different. -
Re:Addresssrich10195@al.com
Does he work for this Alabama news site? If not, why does he have an email address in their domain?

Re:Crisis? What crisis?
Most of these local companies don't advertise online that I know. (I could be wrong.) You'll find all of them in the Birmingham News, though. The automobile companies I listed advertise heavily in the local newspapers, but you may have to check their websites. The fact that a lot have moved to Alabama and are looking for workers is no big secret. In fact, a lot of the assembly line workers, which are more in demand, are making more than some ITs around here. There's also an Alabama Job Line, which I'll post as soon as I can find it.
Here are a couple of links:

To answer your question about rent... Most one bedrooms are hard to come by, but if you can find them for cheaper than a 2 bed, you won't pay more than about $450/month for a good one. In fact, I nearly got a riverside apartment (beautiful view) in a nice apartment community (lots of kids and a few state troopers) for $375/month. That one was a two bed/one bath, though. They're usually cheaper. One of the nicer apartment complexes (albeit more expensive) where my mother lives is $585/month for a 2 br/2ba, but it includes cable and water. -
Re:What a waste of questions.
Thank you for your insightful reply.
However, the sums involved in most of these cases is stupid. $50,000,000 here $20,000,000 there...
here is a story of a women suing for FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS because she was on a diet and ate what sounds like some sort of snack food which had more fat in it that the wrapper said.
She is suing becasue she gained weight. HOW MANY OF THE DAMN THINGS DID SHE EAT???
Why $50,000,000? Seems a big high really... -
Depressing^8From the original newspaper article, a gem of a depressing sentence was:
"In this one instance you surpassed more than eight layers of management
..."PHB^8. Ugh.

From nasa watchFrom the current NASA Watch page:
4 March 2000: Boeing's missing tanks not explosive, Huntsville Times
"Huntsville workers for Boeing accidentally threw away the two $375,000 tanks last month and later found a piece of their protective covering in the Huntsville landfill.
Boeing has said that if the tanks must be replaced, then NASA, not Boeing, must pay for them, due to terms of a contract between the organizations."
....By coincidence, this month is "Property Awareness Month" at NASA MSFC
