Kraft was owned by notorious tobacco company Philip Morris , until it was transferred to a "shell" parent company called Altria, no doubt to escape all the bad press associated with the Philip Morris brand..

Philip Morris used to own Kraft (and Milka).

In 2001 they split the company, and now Altria Group owns both.

What does it profit America to gain the whole world, and lose its soul?

Nabisco is part of Kraft Foods, which is owned by the Marlboro Man. Altria doesn't look like it's ready to unload Kraft just yet. Would a merger between GE and Altria be a Bad Thing? I guess not necessarily, seeing as how Seagram, another dangerous-product company, used to own Universal.

Kraft Foods is owned by Altria, not Philip Morris.

Otherwise evil companies would have now way to escape their own reputations!

They've changed their name to the the Altria Group. Bad old Enron's gone, Arthur Anderson's gone, Philip Morris, too. Aren't they?

With the exception of Tyvela and Eltiva, those names are already registered by other companies and will probably lead to expensive litigation. Altria is a particularly bad choice, unless your customers enjoy being sued to oblivion by a multibillion Keiretsu.
