Flawless software... wait, what?
a company that has built a reputation for flawless software
Oh come on. Nobody remembers Macos? The Macintosh bomb? Pretty much anything developed by Apple in-house? Flawless software... don't make me chuck my cookies. Reputation, yes, a reputation built by pure spin and outright lying. Flawless and Apple do not belong in the same sentence.

Have you seen what White Culture has become?

Re:How is this even a SUV?
In some ways, but compare
https://services.edmunds-media...
to
http://o.aolcdn.com/commerce/a...
they have a somewhat comparable look but people would not say the first is the same type of car as the second. The Tesla X looks almost the same as the first. -
Re:Dangerous Government Waste
Fallacy much?
So you think a this is the same as this?
You also need to read a bit more.Nothing like ignoring the obvious I pointed out.
All you said was being dependant is bad. I agree and there are ways around dependence. What did I miss?
A soldier running a recon mission
Who said recon mission. It could be a patrol.
is different than every soldier walking around with a tiny drone tethered to them
They are not talking about a drone for every soldier all the time but a drone per squad used when needed.
You are not going to fit much into a small drone in terms of either anti-jamming or encryption.
Are you an electronics expert who knows what can and can not be done on small chips these days?
If you think that you can find a sniper with this drone, I have a nice bridge for sale.
Explain to me how a drone with a camera transmitting back to an operator can't look behind a rock and see anyone hiding there.
Wrong, it takes very little to detect electronic signals being broadcast.
Detection is very different that locating the source. The former can be done with any radio the latter requires a lot more equipment. Your car has a radio which can detect radio stations. Try to use it to find the transmitter. See the difference?
The concept being discussed goes back to the Army (FCS) project work which ended up being cut.
The FCS program was between 2003 and 2009. Drone and computer technology has come quite a way in the last 6 years. How about you catch up with technology.

Fake Fake Fake!
This is 100% fake.
http://o.aolcdn.com/hss/storag...
1: That's not handheld.
2: That's a CO2 tank. He's built a paintball gun and put a bunch of shit on it, then added sparks at the end of it.
1800 Joules is way over a fucking 44 magnum (1300-1500). Yet if you look at the videos posted, you can see that when he fires at some particle boards nothing fucking happens. The "article" original claimed it was 3,000,000 Joules. LOL!If you read the video descriptions on Youtube, he claims:
WXPR Test 3 - 1" long 0.25" aluminum sabot (1.1g total mass). 1.6kJ caps, 500 psi injector. 36" distance to target: angled 3/4" plywood board with 1/4" mild steel backplate. Made a 1/2" deep indent in target and bounced off. Speed was above 250m/s.
Successful proof of concept for repeatable shots on the same set of rails.
So, 1600 J, not 1800. And that tank at 500 PSI is an "injector"? LOL! It's an air gun with some capacitors for no reason!!
His latest video involves shooting a cantaloupe, because everyone laughed when he couldn't penetrate plywood. He claimed they were "steel backed" plywood boards, but he still barely put a dent in them. Here's the cantaloupe: https://youtu.be/t0vCiafjUy8 He allegedly fires at around 1300 J according to his own LCD display. There's an odd cut at 1:51 in the video as well, so I have no idea what he's actually doing. (Watch from 1:49 to 1:52 at 0.25 speed to see the cut). You can watch the shot in slow mo too.
Here's a 44 magnum shooting a watermelon: https://youtu.be/dYtfq8KdlnE A 44 magnums runs at 1300 J to 1500 J. Do they seem at all comparable?

Re:You will not be able to buy one...
The cars that Apple and Google are developing will not be for sale. They are making self-driving taxis - these will be cheaper and more convenient than owning a car, especially in congested cities. UBER is also working on self-driving cars. At the latest TESLA earnings call Elon Musk was asked if they are working on such service, and after a long silence he refused to answer the question. Big changes ahead for the automotive industry,
Do you put "UBER" and "TELSA" in caps like the bible has "God"? Fanboy worship to the extreme.
It's Uber and Telsa.

Re:But that was not the same!
Not like all these others most worried about the cache loss and career once the assets are made public.
So the Vanityfair article can't be another marketing plot to exploit the unexpected spotlight. With a cover (big photo 9MB) perfectly coherent to denounce a "sex crime".

Re:When you have a bad driver ...
Oh! There was a miscommunication my dear pastafarian friend! Please accept my appologies.
You are absolutely correct in that the S660 is an MR, and in stylish compact package! I don't actually know of a good resource in English but there is plenty of informatino available in Japanese. Basically it's a re-birth of the Beat with some S series touches. The car itself is a compact, just like the Beat. I haven't seen any info on the actual engine but the "S" series naming hints at something nice. What worries me about it from the concept is the center console:

This looks dangerously like there may be no real manual option and, even if there is, there isn't much space to shift without feeling up your passenger. -
Achilles in "TROY": 'Is there NO ONE ELSE??'
See subject-line, & the film TROY (absolutely CLASSIC)...
Especially near the opening scenes, where Agamemnon brings out Achilles, Son of Peleus, to defeat Thessaly's Agreus
Man - lmao! This pic? Says it all:
http://www.aolcdn.com/aolr/troy-brad-pitt-400a101106.jpg
Simply because our resident "AC WRITING CRITIQUE SLINGING TROLL" went down to ME, just as fast as Agreus did in 1 blow, by Achilles sword, right here -> http://tech.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=1505462&cid=30729986
(Ah, as-per-usual, I have earned the right to say it here vs. the trolls, yet again: "too, Too, TOO EASY..." ++ )
(HILARIOUS, a moment of TRULY HIGH COMEDY - The No PHD in English 'writing critic' went down & on a grammatical error, a HUGE one (on the level of a gradeschool child's error no less, despite his lies of his saying he was a published author etc. et al (parent to the very post I put up above no less)).
APK
P.S.=> "YOUR TROLLING PERFORMANCE IS DOWN LATELY" trolls... better luck next time, because vs. me?
YOU NEED IT! Rotflmao...
(ALSO/again/once more - THANK YOU FOR THE FUTURE AMMUNITION EVIDENCE IN THAT URL ABOVE, I WILL USE IT FROM NOW ON IN MY DEFENSE (just to go along with my "where is your PHD in English" that not a single one of you off-topic "self-titled writing critics" has, as the counter-punch that ends up KNOCKING YOU OUT IN DEBATES EVERYTIME, that I often utilize vs. the PUNY TROLLS around here & elsewhere online)... apk

Re:Afro-American Racism Against Whites and Asians
Oh please! You wanna know why Obama won? two words for you pal-Caribou Barbie. Even life long conservative I knew voted for Obama and when I asked them why they were going for him? "Because McCain is old and has had health problems and if he wins Caribou Barbie is one heart attack away from the oval office!"
Hell you could have run bozo the clown against blunder woman and he would have swept the thing. Between McCain flip flopping so badly that 2000 McCain could have run against 2008 McCain and not had anything in common, Palin coming off as a total idiot in every interview, not to mention Caribou Barbie stirring up the ultra right loony tunes so bad that McCain actually had to come out and say nice things about Obama to keep it from looking like a lynching party, it is a miracle he got the amount of votes he did.
But it was the Moose Knuckle Prom Queen that pushed the election into the win column for Obama, not the black vote. Hell the only thing good about her was she made SNL not suck again for a little while. Frankly both sides have become so whoreish that it is like voting for which $20 skank is less likely to give you an STD. Either way the outcome isn't gonna be pretty and you'll feel dirty just for participating.

Re:NCSoft is scoring big
Player comments over at the official boards are pretty much ecstatic. NCSoft and their players are getting endless free content and every fanboy who's interested in 'rolling their own MMO' now has a way to write for a real MMO.
Oh, there are concerns about abuse and stupidity, but the general consensus is that Mission Architect is a very, very good thing. It's been designed from the ground up with player requests in mind and NCSoft has a pretty decent track record of pleasing players.
No one at NCSoft, nor their players expect CoH anything to be a 'WoW Killer', but City of Heroes is profitable and has an active community. This will only help expand that.
- A very lengthy podcast about the design and testing of Mission Architect
Basic features include:
- Ability to create NPC allies and enemies using CoH's costume creator and power selector
- Ability to link up to 25 mission objectives into one mission
- Ability to link up to 5 missions into one arc
- Ability to customize all dialogue, souvenirs, etc...
- User voting for 'Hall of Fame', Dev selection for 'Dev's Choice'.
- Vote tracking to reduce 'vote griefing'Of course it's big on the official forums, those are where all the people are who pay to play the game. Ask all the people that they've chased away with all their "interesting" choices on how to run the game how exciting this new feature is and I bet you'd get some less-than-ecstatic opinions.

Dojo libs are on AOL's edge network already
eg http://o.aolcdn.com/dojo/1.1.1/dojo/dojo.xd.js
This is really fast - I think they cache on distributed servers. Much faster than from my own server.
Anybody have more info on this? Is Google going to do something similar? Is AOL harvesting data on my clients' users? -

Don't worry, they're working on that. See http://www.aolcdn.com/red_galleries/michael-jackson-400a052307.jpg
