Re:Where's the Beef?
On that subject, I'm confused what the article author means by: "As we've said, it could be an error, but with two separate files both using containing the sub-string _g5_, one on Apple's site, the other on Avenue A's, this seems unlikely."
I'm guessing what he means is that the file "apple_g5_powerbook" appears to exist on the target server.
Well, "http://switch.atdmt.com/action/i bet any damn string will work here and the register is just freaking stupid" works, and "http://switch.atdmt.com/action/tony smith is a wanker" seems OK too. Obviously they were already prepared for this story!
Or, of course, the bug accepts any input string and just dumps a 1x1 transparent GIF.

if you want to see what the PB g5 looks like now, go directly to the marketing site . I think the details should be self explanatory

I feel like it's bad form to respond to my own post but here are two examples of the ads I've seen on CNN.

Re:Great browser, but...
Actually, most poorly designed websites that still look good IE, will look good in Opera too. FireFox isn't quite as good at that as Opera. The point is rather moot though, since IE is truly dangerous, and any other browser on the market is vastly superior - be it FireFox, Netscape, Opera, or whatever. No one on my network is allowed to use IE, except on MS sites that will only work with IE.

Re:Does it really matter?
What the fuck are you talking about, "legality?" Seems like the PHP folks are the ones with the legality problem, with this GPL/mySQL snafu. And "cost?" He mentioned that this was assuming you already have the software.
ASP is easier to configure, more well documented, and faster than PHP. Not to mention that it handles object oriented about 1000% better.
Plus, the top of this page says so.
