Re:That's quite a number...
Er, except that there aren't. here's an image linked to from the auction page.
-
Headline is wrong.
This is an auction for 1300+ games related items. Sure there are over 300 game systems but there are only 5-7 games being sold in this lot.
-
shipping?
too many items . i feel one heck of a shipping cost.
although it may be cheaper to drive there and pick up yourself, if you live not too far from NC.
well, i wouldn't worry about that, should be only a fraction of the bid, currently at $5100 -
Re:Not for me
Or perhaps something like the $24.99 Jamstudio 7x5-inch USB/Serial Graphic Tablet with Software

Hotmail linked?
I did some research and it turned up this posting of somebody who was also using a Hotmail account. The thief could have gotten the password from his Hotmail account and used it to gain access to his paypal account.

Want to see a real Paypal party?
Check these losers out: Paypal forum at auctionwatch. You think some people on slashdot are bitter, you ain't seen nothin' yet.
-
This is not really the right place.I doubt most Slashdot readers are heavy paypal users. Of course someone will reply to this to call me a troll.
So instead, why don't you see people who are really complaining about paypal? Forum at Auctionwatch. Sure, lots of them are actually complaining that Ebay infected them with viruses that make popup ads happen, but there are a couple of people who aren't completely stupid.

Re:Are you people kidding me?
Actually, ASCII (AKA Asciiware) has made lots of controllers over the years. One of their best pads they ever put out was their SNES AsciiPad. They also made an NES Advantage-like joystick for the SNES, cleverly titled the "SNES Advantage". They also made this neat one-handed RPG controller released in Japan for the SNES that let you eat/write while playing RPGs and other command-driven games.
Here's a picture of a Dreamcast controller they made.
Here's a PSX version of the one-handed RPG controller. -
Auction sites, and other ideas
Well, there's always eBay or other auction sites. But, a better long-term solution could be to create a "Used DSL modems" website. You could list your own wares, of course, but also post ads from other buyers & sellers. Unless the participation was really high, you wouldn't even necessarily need a database backend -- you could probably just update the (static) html files manually.
P.S. I'm looking for a new job in Web Development. I invite you to check out my portfolio of hand coded HTML / JavaScript / CSS.

They just raised $30M... look out EuropeAccording to this article at AuctionWatch X.com just raised $30,000,000.
And i quote:
Raising venture capital supposedly has become much more difficult since April's crash in technology stocks, but X.com has done it again, raising $30 million in series D funding.
The Palo Alto, California-based online payment processor raised $100 million in April, after having merged with PayPal in March.
The lead investor in this round was the investment arm of French retail bank Credit Agricole. X.com spokesman Vince Sollitto said Agricole also would serve as a strategic advisor as the company moves into Europe and other countries.

Auctionwatch
I wonder if eBay is also suing AuctionWatch?
Auctionwatch compiles information from eBay, Yahoo, and some other ones I think. -
Interesting, yet scary...
Or maybe it's not such a bad precedent; it'd be interesting if such a ruling helped discourage hard-drive searching by software which searches for "undesirable" content without your consent or knowledge.
It's pleasant to think that this ruling has potential to only be used for Good Things®.
However, the stark reality is that if it can be used to prevent breaches of privacy à la Aureate Media aka Radiate, it can also be wielded as a weapon in cease-and-desist letters as well as in the courtroom when a site doesn't like another (a competitor, perhaps?) crawling them on a regular basis like the recent AuctionWatch brouhaha.
Gibson Research Corporation has a fantastic links page regarding privacy. Many links on this page really ring true with this ruling.
On another note, Slashdot is really on the ball -- eBay's Press Releases page has absolutely nothing to say about this (as of when I wrote this, of course).
