Re:Good Title
I desperately want a Wii, and have no personal interest in a PS3.
Wii is targeted at different audience. There are some games not available for Wii - but available for PS2/3. As well as Xbox.
Wii is targeted at non-gamers. Bit like Nintendo DS is targeted at kids - but also has appeal to wider range of audience. Games there aren't just dumb - but funny. But on PS3 you get more serious gaming with serious titles. Compare e.g. PS3's "Gundam: Target In Sight" v. Wii's "SD Gundam"
I have quite a dilema now. The games I want are available for PS3 and Xbox. But coolness factor definitely favors Nintendo now. Especially after hands on with Nintendo DS Lite, I definitely want to give Wii a try. But I know no games I might like for Wii.

The only player better than an iPod is...
... the Evangelion iPod: http://lalabitmarket.channel.or.jp/ipodeva.html
Yes, I ordered one.
No, I do not expect to gain much respect for this purchasing decision. -

Re:What next, 5,000 yen?
Just as a bit of information...
The wonderswan is a rather lovely little handheld device - similar in size to a GBA. I've got two of them...
In hardware terms it supports one or two rather unique features. The display is full colour and comes with a brightness control which helps in extreme lighting conditions - still no backlight though. It's also got any number of rather unique peripherals (most of which are only usable in Japan) such as the Wondergate for multiplayer gaming via a mobile phone and a link up cable for the PS/2. Cream of the crop though is the mighty wonderborg" which *everyone* should play with!
There are some good games available, although for the western gamer it's a slightly mixed bag - like many JPN only consoles it's heavily dominated by Japanese language RPG's (including rocking versions of Final Fantasy I & II) and a few survival horror things. Namco have got a few of their arcade conversions available as well (Mr. Driller, Final Lap) as do Sammy (Guilty Gear) and capcom (Makimaura - Ghosts and Goblins to you and me).
Ebay is always a good place to buy, several hong kong based distributors sell consoles and games. You can also buy at Lik Sang
Anyway, probably more information than you really wanted... And yes, it is a much more exciting machine than the bloody xbox.
Cheers

Here are some pics of the WonderSwan from their japanese website for those wondering what it is. And this is the hompage for the WonderSwan.

Wonderswan
Before he passed away Gunpei Yokoi also worked on the Wonderswan and the game Gunpey. The Wonderswan is a really cute little portable machine. The coolest thing about it is that the it can be used either in a tall or wide orientation (depending on the software, obviously). They've done some clever things with the buttons and d-pad so that they work in either orientation.
Gunpey is an insanely addictive dropping pieces puzzle game (one of Wonderswan's launch titles), which is one of the most original since Tetris invented the genre. There's a Windows demo downloadable here. Click on any of the 3 bulleted text links on the left side of the page. They require you to fill out a form--you can probably enter garbage. (It's been a while since I downloaded it myself.) -
Re:Are you playing with your mobile phone?
In Japan you can already play games on your mobile phone
And you can plug both your Gameboy Color and the Color Wonderswan into your cell phone for net gaming. -
Really Cool phones, not this motorola crap
NTT DoCoMo's phones are (a) Color, (b) networked, (c) programmable, (d) play pacman, space invaders, tetris, chu-chu rocket and many other games. See here for screenshots and movies.
On top of that there is already a wireless game machine in Japan. It's called the Color Wonderswan and it connects to your cell phone for networked games. For example Gumpey Ex and Digimon
It's also got a way cool programmable robot (Note: this page is in English ;-)
I wish the lamer moderators would post my damn article submissions. I've been submitting this stuff for months but it never gets posted. Instead this crappy stuff from Motorola with short battery life (compared to the Japanese phones), black and white lo-res displays, and very arguably not 1/10th as cool as what is CURRENTLY available else where. You guys should be demanding better than that crap. -
