There has to be a bigger one out there, somewhere. -
Re:Doesn't make sense
This does not make sense.
The e-mail address a customer gives LinkedIn contains no information about what server the account is on or what protocol it can be accessed with.
And it certainly doesn't contain the password, unless you use the same password on multiple sites.Yes, it does. If you user fills out the form as SomeDouche@gmail.com then linkedin goes to gmail.com and logs in with the credentials supplied by the user. It's not rocket science.

Re:What the hell is "left open"?
When I login to my Linked-in account I'm given the option to supply them with my email credentials.

Pretty obvious that you're handing them access to your email account. The plaintiffs are idiots.

Re:Ads?
My webmail has no ads: http://s3.danscomp.net/office-12.jpg unless you count the spam in my junk folder.
I normally always use my outlook client instead of the web interface.
No matter how nice a webmail UI can be made, they still don't match their client counterparts. -

I liked their old logo: http://s3.danscomp.net/hotmail_logo.gif

Re:AnonOps part of the problem, not the solution
I've been watching the Anonops IRC since the attack on paypal, as I'm sure allot of people are.
AnonOPs is a false flag operation. I see people crying things like "SUPPORT FREESPEECH" , "end FASCISM" and "Support free expression" and all sorts of militant libertarian war cries. While at the same time talking about attacking websites they disagree with. I have tried pointing out this hypocrisy to no avail.

Re:I admit it

1st Email: I suggest losing the wife, since she is just a burden.
2nd Email: This book will be very handy http://danscomp.net/How-to-get-the-truth-out-of-anyone.pdf
3rd Email: Keep your kids OFF Slashdot, we all appreciate it!
Done!

Re:Hotmail incompatible with me....
I was with hotmail before Microsoft came in. It's the only free provider I ever used, now I only use email from my own domains so that I am never locked into a provider.

Re:What of bulk squatters?
My domain danscomp.net as you can see here http://danscomp.net/ isn't a website, I use it for email and a variety of other purpose's that aren't all http oriented.
Who the hell are you to say whether or not I'm using my domain?
Second,
Why shouldn't I be allowed to reserve a name I may use in the future?
