Re:Vaporware? I hope not!
The N64 isn't technically superior in all ways to the PSX, most importantly it is still cartridge based leaving it with small amounts of storage in comparison to the CD driven PSX, which is one of the main reasons developers like Square chose not to develop for the N64.

Lots of TLDs
Glad to see that lots of TLDs were included in the list, although it's enough that it makes you think about whether we should just open up
.whatever and have any TLD that's possible? Just an idea, I know it's been thought of before and has it's downsides, but it does have it's benefits also.

Re:One Idea...DivX
Just out of curiousity, what hardware/software did you use to do that, I get bored sometimes and already have the software, any help would be appreciated

Re:Wow!Why even bother asking ? If you were a developer, and not a troll, you'd know it was "glade" (unless you're really using 3dfx's proprietary API to design user interfaces ).
Correction: 3dfx opened up Glide quite awhile ago.

Re:One day this has to be sorted out..If you get a t1 through a major service provider, you aren't going to get something that runs slower because they have too many t1's hooked up to their backbone. a T1 should be able to get that level of bandwidth from theri service provider, regardless of load going out to the internet. Same should apply for residental broadband connections. The problem is there is a REASON T1's cost so much (compared to home broadband) though, it's because it'd dedicated to you and guarunteed pretty much, if you expect the same type of service from a cable modem/dsl that you do from a t1 to your home then expect the price of your cable modem/dsl to rise SIGNIFICANTLY.

Re:What do they expect? If the most of the differences are hairthin, as you attest, then you really don't LOVE linux very much.
I don't use an OS to LOVE it or becomes buddies with it, I use it to get work done, be productive, and entertain myself.

Re:Word for Lawyers
You must not have noticed the checkbox right in the Word Count dialog that says "Include footnotes"? Amazing.

Re:Possible technical reasons
How do you figure MS has dropped all future plans for DirectX, they still support it very much. Also, your Windows 2000 example is just plan wrong, Win2k has MORE DirectX support than NT4 did, Win2k SHIPPED with DirectX 7, the same version Win95/98 use, while NT4 only had support for DirectX 3, and that wasn't even until Service Pack 3. Check out http://www.microsof t.com/DirectX/homeuser/information/dx4nt.asp for the real deal.

Weeks/months, not days
Oops, changing the password every few days would be just a little bit on the paranoid side wouldn't it?

Could make support easier
This could make some people's jobs a bit easier, especially mine.
- No more having users call the helpdesk when their "password won't work" (when in truth they just forgot it)
- No more requiring users to change their passwords every few days
- No more users writing their password on a little sticky note and putting it on the monitors.
- Also, it could be used as an added security measure, username+password+fingerprint on boxes that could use/benefit from the added security.
Downside: - Might be costly up front

Relevant
To me personally this is relevant, and I happen to like the few stock market/ipo posts we get here. But if CmdrTaco felt this story was offtopic/irrelevant, I really don't believe he should have posted it, you've got to stick to your guns there CT, it's your site after all.
