Dude, Windows was the SAME PRICE before they included IE as it was AFTER they included IE, so don't try to claim that "you paid for windows" means "you paid for IE"
The N64 isn't technically superior in all ways to the PSX, most importantly it is still cartridge based leaving it with small amounts of storage in comparison to the CD driven PSX, which is one of the main reasons developers like Square chose not to develop for the N64.
Glad to see that lots of TLDs were included in the list, although it's enough that it makes you think about whether we should just open up.whatever and have any TLD that's possible? Just an idea, I know it's been thought of before and has it's downsides, but it does have it's benefits also.
Just out of curiousity, what hardware/software did you use to do that, I get bored sometimes and already have the software, any help would be appreciated:)
Why even bother asking ? If you were a developer, and not a troll, you'd know it was "glade" (unless you're really using 3dfx's proprietary API to design user interfaces ).
Correction: 3dfx opened up Glide quite awhile ago.
If you get a t1 through a major service provider, you aren't going to get something that runs slower because they have too many t1's hooked up to their backbone.
a T1 should be able to get that level of bandwidth from theri service provider, regardless of load going out to the internet.
Same should apply for residental broadband connections.
The problem is there is a REASON T1's cost so much (compared to home broadband) though, it's because it'd dedicated to you and guarunteed pretty much, if you expect the same type of service from a cable modem/dsl that you do from a t1 to your home then expect the price of your cable modem/dsl to rise SIGNIFICANTLY.
How do you figure MS has dropped all future plans for DirectX, they still support it very much. Also, your Windows 2000 example is just plan wrong, Win2k has MORE DirectX support than NT4 did, Win2k SHIPPED with DirectX 7, the same version Win95/98 use, while NT4 only had support for DirectX 3, and that wasn't even until Service Pack 3. Check out http://www.microsof t.com/DirectX/homeuser/information/dx4nt.asp for the real deal.
To me personally this is relevant, and I happen to like the few stock market/ipo posts we get here. But if CmdrTaco felt this story was offtopic/irrelevant, I really don't believe he should have posted it, you've got to stick to your guns there CT, it's your site after all.
Good to see more games coming out for Linux, especially when parts of them are "open sourced" for the community, lets the games live on much longer via the addons and mods that will be created for it. Glad to see Epic following id's lead on this at least, just wish more of the games that were released for Linux weren't FPSs, but at least we're getting things like Civ: CTP, Myth II, etc..., and these all help to drive the development of 3d support in Linux, so "it's all good" as pimps like to say:)
This can't be that much different than what some people do now:) Except instead of going down to the local QuickieMart to buy coffee/mountain dew/candy/etc, you simply order it online and have it delivered. If you're already working at home 100% of the time, and don't have much of a "real" social life, then this couldn't be that drastic of a change, since he's allowing himself to have visitors in the backyard, and can still go outside, unless he flips and becomes a nutcase of course:)
Old (crappy) version of Verge2

From the article: Well, here it is guys. The V2 source under the GPL. It's the old DJGPP engine that may not even work. Deal with it. This is the beginning of more updates to come that will bring with them the newer V2 source trees (which actually work! *gasp*), so that you can watch as progress is being made, or possibly even chip in and help out.
Hopefully those future updates come along quickly since it doesn't sound like this version is very usable. Also, it doesn't sound like they're all too supporting of Linux development/porting, but since it's GPL we shouldn't have any problems porting it over:
Also, lore made an archive for anyone who wants to port to Linux (though I wouldn't know why you'd want to port this old crap)
It might be better to wait for future updates depending on how quickly they come out though considering how bad/old this codebase is, still wouldn't hurt to check it out though.
Just a slight correction, the DoD standard for documents is the 2 latest revisions of MS's .DOC format.
I really like the movie, anyone that's an "Ah-nold" fan should see it!

Someday I'll make devildog.org into something.

I don't use an OS to LOVE it or becomes buddies with it, I use it to get work done, be productive, and entertain myself.

You must not have noticed the checkbox right in the Word Count dialog that says "Include footnotes"? Amazing.

Oops, changing the password every few days would be just a little bit on the paranoid side wouldn't it?

This could make some people's jobs a bit easier, especially mine.

Hopefully this will spawn some RPGs for Linux now that there is a GPL'd engine out their for people to use. It sure can't hurt :)
