Re:Don't call us, we'll call you
There's quite a difference.
There's no proof to coincide with their particular "religion". Not one shred.
In contrast, you could fill a library with the opposite for the reality of visitation. Millions have seen these things. Are you going to be the one to tell Astronaut Edgar Mitchell that he's lying? FAA Division Chief John Callahan? Astronaut Gordon Cooper? Admiral Lord Hill-Norton: Five-Star Admiral, Former Head of the British Ministry of Defense? People with whom we trusted with launch keys of nuclear missles? Are you serious? The list is hundreds long and reads like a military and intelligence reunion! I'm sorry, but to compare these people with "scientologists" is just silly. These are people who knew that the only thing they would be recieving in return for their "disclosure" was ridicule. Nothing more. Not more members into their "group", not money, nothing. They KNEW this, and still came out. People with families and careers. People whos resume would make mine and yours look like a McDonald's fry cook. They came bearing proof in many forms. Tapes, papers, transcripts, video, photos, etc... all verifiable.
The difference is huge. -
Seems like a waste...
...AND a smokescreen. There are literally hundreds of witnesses that held military, intelligence, and private postitions with proof to show that "they" have been visiting us for some time now, and that our gov knows quite a bit about "them". Yes, I know this sounds "crazy" but the proof simply shows otherwise.
Read "Disclosure" by Dr. Greer and "UFO's and the National Security State" by Richard M. Dolan. Two extremeley well documented and referenced books among thousands. Many state that they have proof that we "see" these things on radar constantly, and that they are commonplace at NORAD, so why are we spending money on trying to find radio transmissions from accross the galaxy? I say open a book, do the research, and then ask these people to simply disclose the truth.
Done and done. No more of this crap, deception, and wasted expenditure. -
"Popular Government PR Group" more like it.
This is unbelievable. The "conspiracy theorists" have much more evidence of these realities then do the debunkers of the opposite.
These people, people with families, people with careers, expecting nothing in return other than the usual ridicule say differently. The vast majority of people believe the head on TV which they take as fact because "our government wouldn't lie to us". That's your argument. No real research, nothing. Just "it can't be so". Well, that doesn't cut it, I'm sorry. If the government doesn't want you to know about IT'S GOING TO LIE ABOUT IT. How hard is this to understand? So when they let a file "slip" through stating that there is nothing to this story (first hand testimony from people WITHOUT an agenda get thrown to the wayside) and people eat it up as evidence to the contrary, it makes me laugh, and sad at the same time, to see educated people taken in for nothing less than "it can't be so, and our government wouldn't lie about it". Yikes... Scary. You should NEVER trust one source, especially when the "one" has all the motive in the world to lie to you. And yet, it's what most do, and it's sad to see.
Do the research on your own. The gov has incredible motive for keeping this stuff secret, and yet we take their "word" for it.
Everything in that article has been beaten to death for decades, so it's even MORE sad to see people eating up as the final say so, which is nearly laughable from the position of one that has done extensive research in this area, initially as a hardcore skeptic. This article is a steaming pile of disinfo, and it's scarily obvious to those of us who have done the research.
Good luck. -
Zero Point Energy Device Coming Soon!
Ha, just when you thought the field was closed, suddenly it's open again.... And since it's being exposed and marketed by Dr. Steven Greer you know it has to be true.

Very Well Said
A brilliant post.
As I said in another thread, the arguments about UFOs are over. The preponderance of evidence makes the nature of UFOs abundantly clear.
The interesting discussions are now centered around what is to be done about this problem, how it is developing, and what use we can make of it for our own benefit. -
Email Activism
Mail bombing politicians does not work. Especially 71 year old politicians "Who don't know how to turn on a computer".
Old fashioned letters work, as do faxes, there is something about the tangible quality of paper that sends the message home, especially when you see a large pile of it, all devoted to telling you politely you are wrong.
Here in the UK, there is an easy to use system with no agenda (i.e. you can use the site to fax your MP about anything) that allows you to send a fax to the politician quickly and easily.
UK only
One assumes there is a similar site for Senators - I found one here but they seem to want you to only use the site if you share their agenda.
No doubt there are others, if not, why not ? There's enough talent on /. to set up and run such a site.
Always be polite and offer a well argued case. If all you want to write is You suck, you a55h01e, i hope u r forced to suck satan's cock forever MOFO then spend the time downloading some more p0rn instead. Every message like that, negates 20 intelligent letters.
You can make a difference - The UK government recently backed down over the extension to the RIP act partly due to the sheer volume of mail they received from the public making it clear they were not going to tolerate such infringement of privacy.
Geeks force government climbdown
If every US /. poster contacted the senate before the vote, it would make a difference. Senators want votes even more than they want bribes. -

note: i know i posted this once already, just trying to get some folks to see something related that seriously addresses the topic at hand.

Hypothetical Situation
Let's say you're a scientist. You can five of your prestigious scientist buddies go out on a camping trip and witness a strange flying object doing crazy aerobatics that defy the laws of physics. Who exactly do you tell?
The trouble with all this stuff is that somewhat fringe ideas that might be worthy of further study (what if there are really alien visitors?) are lumped together with complete idiocy.
I've got a strong engineering background, and enough college physics to understand the basics of relativity, but I question some beliefs of the scientific establishment. The sad fact is that there are likely a lot of scientists who really would like to take a serious, open-minded look at the UFO phenomenon, but the only way to examine it and keep the respect of one's peers is the weather-balloons-full-of-swamp-gas approach.
At the moment, modern science isn't capable of giving serious attention to things like the possibility of extraterrestrial visitors. Why should it be trusted to be the final word? -
Worthy project, if it's not already redundant.
These guys make a pretty good case that it might be.

The Deliberate restriction of technology...
Is not only possible, but is happening. Take a look at: The Disclosure Project to see what efforts are being made to have all potentially beneficial technologies that are currently being hidden from us, released, so that we can all prosper from them.

It's a nice intermediary step butthe future of energy is here. [Space Energy Access Systems, Inc.]
It's still in developmental stages, but it'll come to fruition and when it does we can also use Iceland to test it for the world.

This has been around for 50+ years
I apologize in advance if this post is not grammatically correct and if anything is not spelled properly, I wrote it in kind of a hurry..
This type of effect IS accounted for by physics, only not the physics that is taught in every school in the world....
I'll try to keep this short, for further info, read the entirety of the paper that I'm going to link to at the bottom of this post...
It turns out (i may be slightly wrong on some of my info here, but i think for the most part i got it right) that a guy by the name of Oliver Heaviside (and another guy named William Gibbs) hacked a massive chunk away from Maxwell's original equations that described electro-dynamic effects. (you don't believe me? go find an original (pre-1873) copy of Maxwell's 'Treatise' and surprise surprise, the four equations that are commonly known as 'Maxwell's Equations' will NOT be there....
Heaviside viewed quaternions as an 'abomination' and considered them 'too mystical' so he axed over 200 of them from Maxwell's original work, so it actually turns out that the four surviving 'classic' equations that have Maxwell's name on them are in all actuality 'Heaviside's Equations' as they NEVER appeared in any original paper by Maxwell.
Anyhow, in 1919 a guy by the name of Theodr Kaluza introduced a fifth (spatial) dimension to Einstein's theories, which unified Einstein's theory of gravity with Maxwell's theory of electromagnetic radiation (showing how gravity and light are fundamentally mathmatically unified)
Since Einstein used time as the fourth dimension, Kaluza's fifth was actually the same spacial dimension as 4-space designations used by Maxwell (and others) over 50 years earlier....
however, short-sighted scientists would not believe something that seemingly could never be experimentally proven (the reason for the lack of proof lies in the fact that this new dimension had somehow collapsed to the Planck length - 10^-33 cm)
sorry, this post has gone on longer than i intended it too, if you are interested in a much better explanation of this, check the paper at the following link...
http://www.enterprisemission.com/hyper1.html
the government knows full well of the existence of this effect, in fact they've been studying and experimenting with these theories ever since they first got their grubby little hands on alien technology way back at Roswell...
you need more proof that this is going on in the government? http://www.disclosureproject.org
that should be all the proof you need, assuming of course that you are open-minded enough to listen to what those people are saying...
I have a little theory about how this extra spatial dimension ties in with human consciousness, but i'll leave that for another post

Ineffective Revolution
Because we have become such a disgusting Global communitiy of useless consumers an attack on a SUV auto sales makes a small impact.
What really needs to happen is to attack and critisize and pressure EVERY wasteful auto dealer.
That would cause a change. That is what it takes before it is called a revolution.
We certainly have the technology for plentiful free energy. How many laws are on the books requiring a home to have some sort of solar power? How many corporations do you know who voluntarily save energy even though it will cost them more money? How many billions of dollars are spent bribing politicians in order for a corporation to continue its wasteful practices?
Stop supporting GAS you ignorant people. If you stop buying it. It will stop being important. What if GOD is unreasonably strict? We are all fucked...
