Re:Yes, but no.
I know that people call him racist, but he has been against "illegal" (which is not a race) and urges caution in terms of Islam (once again, not a race, but a religion that creates more than 90% of terrorists).
Has he said something else that I have missed?
Donald Trump: "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people." So being a Mexican immigrant means you're either a drug dealer or a rapist according to Trump. That's racism.
Donald Trump: "But you have people coming in and I'm not just saying Mexicans, I'm talking about people that are killers and they're coming into this country." And that's xenophobic.
Donald Trump: "Likewise, tremendous infectious disease is pouring across the border." Linking a community with disease. Where did I hear this before?
Donald Trump: "I’ll take jobs back from China, I’ll take jobs back from Japan. The Hispanics are going to get those jobs, and they’re going to love Trump.” Treating hispanics like dogs he can throw a bone to, that's racist too.
Donald Trump: "No surprise that China was caught cheating in the Olympics. That's the Chinese M.O. - Lie, Cheat & Steal in all international dealings." Note how he said it's the "Chinese modus operandi", not the "Chinese *government* M.O.". Claiming 1+ billion people are liars, cheaters and thieves, just for their ethnicity or the country they live in is racism.
Has Trump ever actually issued a call for violence? If so, I must have missed it.
Well he certainly did against protestors at his rallies.
But more importantly, "Donald Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States." and "Donald Trump said that he would 'absolutely' institute mandatory registration." So he says he will use the force of law to discriminate on the basis of religion. In other words he is against freedom of religion and against the bill of rights.
While those are not direct threats of violence, it's already too much for someone who wants to be the chief of the world's most powerful army.

Re: wonder why
His policies are on his website: https://www.donaldjtrump.com/p...
Click through - the stances are quite firm and there is quite a lot of detail. On a number of issues I consider him more progressive than Hillary.
"Progressive"? Maybe. Insane, yes.
Look at his tax plans:
1. If you are single and earn less than $25,000, or married and jointly earn less than $50,000, you will not owe any income tax. That removes nearly 75 million households â" over 50% â" from the income tax rolls. They get a new one page form to send the IRS saying, âoeI win,â those who would otherwise owe income taxes will save an average of nearly $1,000 each.
2. All other Americans will get a simpler tax code with four brackets â" 0%, 10%, 20% and 25% â" instead of the current seven. This new tax code eliminates the marriage penalty and the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) while providing the lowest tax rate since before World War II.
3. No business of any size, from a Fortune 500 to a mom and pop shop to a freelancer living job to job, will pay more than 15% of their business income in taxes. This lower rate makes corporate inversions unnecessary by making Americaâ(TM)s tax rate one of the best in the world.
4. No family will have to pay the death tax. You earned and saved that money for your family, not the government. You paid taxes on it when you earned it
And he claims "Doesn't add to our debt and deficit".
This is madness.

Re: wonder why
Okay tell me what his platform is.
1. Go here: https://www.donaldjtrump.com/
2. Click on "Positions" and pick something
3. ReadGood point. Go back 8 years and do the same thing with Barack Obama.
They're the same guy, and I have no reason to believe they're "across the aisle" from each other. It's all just empty "we're going to do great things!" rhetoric.
It's kind of scary to see a Presidential race where Ted Cruz is the least bad choice out of 4 people, and the only one who doesn't belong in a nursing home.

Re:Uh, just pay extra
"In some ancient Greece city-states, a person could be put to death by popular vote."
Oh come on now! If the US ever needed the ability to put to death some idiot scumbag by popular vote, this is the year. He has my vote!
;-)
Got Rump? (Click it. It is funny. Seriously.) -
Re:Trump's plans
Bullshit, it's not "disingenuous" at all.
Here is the wording direct from Donald Trump's campaign website:
"Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on."

Re:The Angry Mob
Trump has a plan for how to pay for the wall, its on his website.
https://www.donaldjtrump.com/p...
Impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages; increase fees on all temporary visas issued to Mexican CEOs and diplomats (and if necessary cancel them); increase fees on all border crossing cards – of which we issue about 1 million to Mexican nationals each year (a major source of visa overstays); increase fees on all NAFTA worker visas from Mexico (another major source of overstays); and increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico [Tariffs and foreign aid cuts are also options].

Re:President Trump isn't "owned" by corporations.
Rest assured anon, the shill armies are out in force against Trump, esp. here. Even the GOPe has decided to attack their front runner, Trump, rather than allow a non-establishment candidate make it into power.
None of the morons downmodding you are legit. If they're not shills, they haven't even read his positions page, so their opinions should be disregarded.
Hint: Trump explicitly states he wants to reduce H1B visas.

Re:Might as well start calling him President Trump

Re:To summarize
It's interesting that Donald Trump was criticised for voicing his position on halting any new Muslims from coming to the country and yet apparently it's happening already with the current USA administration. I guess the difference is that... they are not promising to do it, they are just doing it. Of-course they are not stopping all new Muslims yet, but once you have the precedent of stopping some Muslims from even visiting the country who is to say that stopping all Muslims is the boundary that the government will not cross? Camel's nose under the tent (or was it his toe?)

Trump
How about instead of picking a topic to get anti-Trump people posting on Slashdot, we pick a Trump topic that is legitimate for conversation here, like his H-1B position at https://www.donaldjtrump.com/positions/immigration-reform.
