Re:Arsenic life forms?
To those who didn't get it, parent is referring to the "I accidentally X", a 4chan meme. The verb is intentionally left out.
It's based on the following post:
hey /g/ I need your help
I accidentally 93MB of .rar files
what should I do...is this dangerous ?
Read more about it here: http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/I_accidentally_X -
Re:4Chan
The difference being the Chinese are motivated by a sense of moral justice (at least on the surface) instead of a nihilistic quest for lulz. Frankly I like the 4chan way better, seems more honest.
Oddly (or perhaps not), cat abuse seems to bring out a sense of moral justice even in 4chan: see "Kenny Glenn The Animal Abuser".

It happens in the US, too.
After local newspapers wrote self-described wolf woman severed a lost dog's head, a US-based human flesh search engine posted IM logs, IRC logs, and phone calls with the suspects about the incident along with the suspects' personal information.

Reversible computing
Thermodynamics is one of two sets of phenomena that are irreversible. The other [CP violation] is rather obscure
CP violation isn't obscure if you visit the seedier corners of the Internet. It's called a USB line; I'll show you later.
Now imagine a computer that uses a reversible logic system that is reversible
Reversible computing exists.

This is nothing
I read the web site, and I saw nothing which was remotely even scratching the depth of perversity. Maybe I am "hardened" by years of browsing and stumbling onto distrubing stuff.

Re:Amazing
I actually looked up "Neckbeard Device" and found nothing. I have no idea what you are talking about.
http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Neckbeard
Though I sort of agree with you on the video out. Seriously? Has anybody ever truly said, "Damn! I really need to plug my laptop into a television!"
Yeah, for a couple of reasons:
Watching Movies and TV programs available online, whether through legitimate channels (BBC iPlayer and 4 On Demand in the UK, or Hulu in the US) or otherwise. Hell, I've even had groups of people round for drinks, and ended up with people gathered round the TV watching YouTube clips.
Gaming. Some games are going to be perfect in tablet mode. Some games demand a desk with a keyboard and mouse. Some games only really shine when you play as if you're on a console, on a big TV, sat on a sofa with a controller. Warning Forever is a great game on your laptop. Use an Xbox controller and a TV, and it's even more magnificant.
Unfortunately my laptop doesn't have HDMI, and my TV's VGA input is fussy about modes. I can't seem to get a full widescreen with correct aspect ratio. It's annoying.

Re:Tits or not, no one listens to protestors
But most of them are college-age basement dwellers who type out their screeds in between trips to the minifridge to get more Cheetos.
[Asked very sl-o-wly] Are you American??
Tits or not, no one listens to protestors
Perhaps you should have read the linked article... the bit you're looking for is silent protest. I'll summarize the rest of the info for you STFU.
I could be confused - but is "protestors" a word?? In this particular instance I think (hope) that you are wrong. The general public, and most of the politicians believe that it is only a small section of society that is against censorship. The protest will allow them to see that those against censorship are not a bunch of socialmisfits in search of lolz and animal sex.
I, for one, welcome the chance to put the agenda to the politicians.
I'd love to hear that someone was organizing a protest next week - at the American Embassy against the imposition of ACTA, and the lobbying (read bribing) of Australian politicians to support/allow *IAA. Maybe iinet could put on some buses?

"Don't Mess with Football"
I think the Jake Brahm incident (when he threatened to bomb stadiums) may have been a better avenue for saying that anonymous sites can still track someone stupid down and work with government officials.

If 4chan dies, people will simply chat elsewhereIf 4chan dies, there will be plenty of alternatives out there that will take its place. So don't be fearful of the corporations. They are always too slow to adapt.

Verizon, you are doomed. Pissing off 4chan is probably the worst thing you can do on the Internet.

Re:hmmm targeted advertising
You realize the insurance companies are making about a hundred bucks a year per subscriber, right?
If you are trying to prove a point, the first step is choosing a neutral source not "politics and culture from a Catholic perspective". Without a valid source you prove nothing. Otherwise I can "prove" that Jews were to blame for 9/11 ( http://encyclopediadramatica.com/JEWS_DID_WTC ) (link is NSFW really), the holocaust didn't happen ( http://www.666ismoney.com/HolocaustAds.html ), oh and the "contrails" you see in the sky are really chemicals ( http://educate-yourself.org/ct/ ).
Whenever some site has an agenda, it usually isn't a valid source. -

Re:Terminator III for Mumification?
The above post makes me wish for two things:
1) that I had saved a mod point
2) there was mod for -1 Unfunny or outright destruction of laughter
3) there was a way to physically punish people over the internet for grammatical abuse like "an robot."
I died inside a little. Urrghh.
