Looks like you're pissed out of your skull again
Some time ago, Userfriendly did a cartoon featuring a Clippy like character called Binky who turned into a mean drunk after being let go by Ubersoft. Looks like another case of life imitating art again.

One Framework to bind them in the darkness ..
In the Land of Ubersoft where the Dark Lord lie.
One Framework to rule them all, One Cloud Platform to find them,
One API to bring them all and in the darkness bind them -

Wright's First Law of Gender Discernment: Everyone you meet on the Internet is a man, possibly over 50, probably overweight, most certainly balding.
(Note also, Wright's Qualification to the Laws of Gender Discernment: These laws do not govern the population of the Internet in its entirety; they are only valid for the population of the Internet that you will actually meet.)

KDP Select
There are so many indie books because, AIUI, you cannot choose to have a book included in Kindle Unlimited unless you are providing it to Amazon under the KDP Select program. This program gets you higher percentages and free marketing and promotional tools. The tradeoff is that whatever books you have in the program be available exclusively from Amazon. This is a tradeoff that is going to make sense for many authors, but is just horrible for readers. And in the long run, the lock-in this inspires is bad for the authors too.
See Chris Wright's rant.

Re:No reason to use it?
This is why I feel that "Don't Be Evil" lost all meaning the moment that Google bought Doubleclick (inventors of the tracking cookie). Of course, I'm also old enough to remember the sheer outrage and total boycotting of X10 by Slashdot users (decimating their consumer customer base) because they were the first company to launch a major ad campaign using popunders. I'm still waiting for similar outrage to be aimed at Netflix.
(Incidentally, Chris Wright's Help Desk comic has established that the actual Face of Google is an extradimensional eldritch horror known to us as "G'oo'gl", and "it's not G'oo'gl's fault that when it communicates in the ancient language of its race, all of the meaningful nuances, tones and inflections of the words are lost to the range of human hearing, making every utterance sound like the same thing over and over and over again. It's also not its fault that the basic structure of its language sounds like a philosophical statement supporting something it has been opposed to since the beginning of time. After all, its language came first..."
The "every utterance that sounds like the same thing over and over again," of course, sounds like the phrase "Don't be evil."

OK. Old one, but Chris'll probably have to bite on this.

I frequently disagree with Richard Stallman
... when it comes to how he chooses to preserve the fruits of the revolution he created, but this is a hit-piece. It is possible to respect the man and disagree with his methods.
There *are* problems with GPLv3, in my opinion, and it's possible that GPLv3 contradicts some of Richard Stallman's "freedom of use" ideology, but there's no way it is going to "endanger Linux" because -- and I'm not entirely sure why the press doesn't get this -- GPL V3 DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY REPLACE GPL V2. This isn't a EULA, it can't be udpated and replaced at any time at the whim of Richard Stallman, the license you get when you get free software is the license you get, and that's that. If the person who created the software decides that the next version will be GPLv3, you are free to fork the old one and develop it yourself.
Honestly, 90% of the media who covers the technology beat are the biggest pack of crybabies in the world. I'm pretty sure the reason so many of them hate Free Software is because they like being in a position where companies give them comp versions of software to play with. In the free software world, that's the only kind of software there is. -
Re:Liar.Liar. Everyone knows there are no women on the internet.
That sounds like the first part of Wright's First Law of Gender Discernment:Everyone you meet on the Internet is a man...
However, you are ignoring Faydra's Exception to the First Law of Gender Discernment:Everyone on the Internet is a man EXCEPT YOUR MOTHER.
