Re:Screenshots of Debian running on AmigaOne
> but what about pictures of the hardware?
You can find some pictures of the actual AmigaOneG3-SE hardware here. An upgrade option to AmigaOne-XE board will be avaiable through AmigaOne dealers.
The first boards come with modem, AC97 sound, modem (via an AMR riser card), 10/100 ethernet, soldered 600 Mhz G3 (XE version will have a socket) and AmigaOS4.
Some pictures of an earlier prototype running TurboLinux can be found here. -

Re:God I hate this company
Can't really advise you. I use an alternative platform on Motorola 68k.
I was trained on Win-PCs in 2000, but had no stomach to go into that field due to heavy MS dominance.
Still sticking with the alternative platform ('85-'94) until (hopefully) their revival on PPC. This is supposed to come good at the end of May:AOne motherboard pictures.

Have you tried...
The new Amiga One hardware. This is was the subject of a previous article. Outside of the CPU, it looks to take pretty much standard PeeCee hardware, but it's PPC based and it runs Linux right now...it will run AmigaOS once the nextgen OS is completed.

Re:Non-Apple PowerPC Support?
I wonder if it'll work on an AmigaOne G3-SE

Re:I wept silently to myself, when I read this.
AmigaOS 4 (meant to be released to developers this month) is being designed for PPC computers by Hyperion and a few extra Amiga developers they have hired.
It is aimed to work on new PPC hardware designed by eyetech and bplan, as well as current amigas that have older 603 and 604 PPC processors like the blizzard and cyberstorm accelerator cards, allowing people to use existing equipment, or newer equipment that allows use of off the shelf PC items such as PCI cards etc.
There are other PPC expansions coming out and they may be supported as well.
x86 is not a goal for AOS4, as to change it for that, instead of going the naturla route of 680x0 to PPC, would take a lot longer, and people want product asap (as always).
all this is just a small piece of the market Amiga is aiming for anyway, and has aimed for since they were created. See this recent interview with CEO Bill McEwan for what is currently on the minds of Amiga.

Re:This is cool, I guess
This is a super thing for all of us who have been waiting for a G* produced by someone other than Apple, but it has some up ups and downs.
That wait is over anyway.
There's the EyeTech A1, which will more than Likely get around to running Linux even if the new AmigaDos 4.0 fails to arive, but from what it looks like, FINALLY Amiga Inc. isn't just talking shit.
First, as you can see there is a picture of a new Amiga motherboard which is PowerPC based, and it fits in an ATX case.
Then, for everyone who thinks it's vaporware (it might be, you know...), there is the rather convincing FAQ from Eyetech which discusses in depth the ZICO STANDARD from Amiga INC. for use with AmigaDOS 4.0.
A lot of people may not have any faith in a belated Amiga Ressurection...
...but I've got you all beat. I have no faith left in the computer industry! So beat that! HA!

You are forgetting...
... QNX RtP, MorhpOS and AmigaOS 4.x (ETA the end of this summer). All runs PPC as well.
These links might be interesting:
Pegasos PPC-board
Eyetechs AmigaOne PPC-boards
What really would make my day would be to see FreeBSD running on PPC.
