As for your claim that the word "pepper" is reserved for peppercorns, I'm pretty sure http://www.chilepepperinstitute.org/ might disagree. But that is probably, as you say, a difference in common names and probably a regional thing.

No lie. I was standing at a bank in Stormwind one day with my level 30 Female Human Mage and some male night elf rogue came up and asked me if I wanted some free "junk". I said sure, thinking I could vend or auction whatever it was he had to give.

6 items in the trade window later I said thanks and he said "see ya, enjoy" and took off.

As I went through each item to see what he had dumped off on me I realized he'd given me 5 pieces of complete vendor trash and a Staff of Jordan, which I couldn't even use yet.

It wasn't the first time people had been overly nice to me, and I normally figured it was just because my character was a gal. I never actually said I was a women in real life, nor did I ever say anything to indicate that I in fact was.

Considering how few reports I've heard of the screen actually breaking though, I'd say it is a rare occurrence. Also, I remember that AT&T wasn't insuring several other phones when they first came out, so the screen probably had little to do with that.

Considering most iPhone owners are supposedly "very happy" (to quote headlines) I would say that it is somewhat uncommon that any are, as you say "f#cked", by a broken screen.

Sure, the game looks beautiful, amazing even. But to jaded gamers or casual gamers there isn't enough there to draw in anyone who wouldn't have already been drawn in already. I personally picked it up, played it for about 10 minutes, said "neat", and put it down. I'll get back to it when I have more time.

When I picked up Wii Sports, on the other hand, I said "neat", and I couldn't put it down.

There is a huge difference here.

Gears of War isn't going to expand the 360 much further beyond the existing gaming crowd. Wii Sports will.

On the other hand, there is a lot to be said about stores actualy having 360's and Gears of War in stock. Because, you know, you can actually get those if you want 'em. Of course, you can also get a PS2 and FF12 or Guitar Hero II as well... for less money.

The problem is sifting through the rubbish to find the gems.

I would say 1 or 2 GREAT games come out per year for every system. Maybe one more or less depending on the year. Add one if you like remakes or sequels.
