Fat Man and 7th Guest
Has nobody mentioned the wonderful mood music that George "Fat Man" and the rest of Team Fat created for 7th Guest, 11th Hour, and Wing Commander, not to mention the various Putt-Putt titles? Apparently they're now doing movie soundtracks and casino audio.

Re:2 examples
As mentioned in a different discussion, Wing Commander's music was written by The Fat Man, who also wrote the music for 7th Guest.

Re:Original soundtracksSome of the best game soundtracks were for 7th Guest and 11th Hour, courtesy of The Fat Man. The music really added to the creepiness of the games.
It's not often that the music developer is given as big a credit as George was given in these games' liner notes. It does help that he... wrote the first General MIDI soundtrack for a game, the first direct-to-MIDI live recording of musicians, the first redbook soundtrack included with the game as a separate disk, the first music for a game that was considered a "work of art," and the first soundtrack that was considered a selling point for the game.
Other games that Fat Man composed for include:
- Wing Commander
- Cyberstrike
- Ultima Underworld
- Castles II

..and good music isn't just MP3 or WAV either!
Not to go overboard, but just to prove this isn't a recent phenomenon, I'll give a mention to the 7th Guest. the best example of how MIDI music should be used in a game... thinking back it STILL gives me chills.
And it's the reason I know who the Fat Man is. -
The Fat Man says:
I am a fan of many games that George "The Fat Man" Sanger has scored over the years, and I'm a huge fan of him and his team's music.
He wrote a book on game audio. I bought it, and read it. It really opened my eyes. His basic premise was that making music for games is impossible. He then gave a fairly detailed description of how he and his team goes about creating music for games. Crazy shit. -
The Fat Man
George "The Fat Man" Sanger and Team Fat, legends in the computer game audio biz, have been making some really great music and audio for slot machines recently.
They've done the spectacular music for Wing Commander I/II, The 7th Guest, Loom, and loads more. And their slot machine audio has been getting really great reviews too!
Fortunately for us gamers, the Fat Man is still in the game business.

Re:Can you still get MOO and MOO2
Oh, and i forgot to mention, the DOS version still runs really sweet under Windows. For some lucky people (i'm one of them
:-) you can actually get sound too. Which is a big bonus, because the music is written by The Fat Man, and as we all know he's a game music legend. (Translation: it rocks ass.)
