Re:Proudly dying for 20 years
You are tripping balls. Here is a quote:
"..with close to eight million copies of HL(Half-Life) sold on the PC..."
Clearly shows, lots of people play games on PC... in this case Half-Life. As a Mac owner, I would really like to have the same selection of games as a PC owner. Someone should get on this, or at least convince the game developers to use OpenGL instead of Direct3D so that other companies can convert them. -
Over at GE we have...
A more honest review, at least I think so. 9.8 is just bullshit - it's nowhere near as revolutionary as Halo 1.
As much as I hate to appear the karma whore, I think people need to see a more balanced review of the game. Remember, we're putting our bollocks on the line with Microsoft's PR by giving the game below 9/10 - we just felt we had to tell the truth.
See the review here. If you like it, pass it on
-
Put simply...
Yes.
I wasn't convinced at first, then I was sent one of these gaming flat panels to review. I wept openly when the courier came to collect it, and I'm meant to be a hardened journalist type.
The 12ms response time means that it's infallible when it comes to blurring, the image remains pinsharp. Plus it weighed a whole 16 kilos less than my current gaming CRT. -
I submitted this too...

Re:GBA Compatible?
Wait for Spaceworld.
You will be waiting a long time. Nintendo won't be making spaceworld this year :( -
Yep.
Another games reviewer here. Got mine yesterday morning from the lovely PR people. It's a much nicer bit of kit than the original - almost all the design flaws are sorted and fixed, and there appears to be a wave of halfdecent games on the way.
I wrote a postmortem of the original N-Gage [google cache] which details what the QD fixes - I would add though that the QD is by no means a 'small' phone, it's almost the width of an old Nokia 1610!
-
I'll tell you for free
It's been exhausting covering it, especially when you get slashdotted half way through!
Still, at least I get a rest from E3 action until e3 2005, which is scheduled for May 18-20 2005 -
Re:where?
Sorry to pimp ourselves out yet again, but over at Gamers Europe News, we're working flat out to bring you the digest of all the latest news coming out of LA. Seriously, my keyboard is taking a major beating at the moment
:)
Such is the life of a games journalist. It's harder than you think. -
More info on the PSP
For more info on the PSP, including a look at the specs in depth, we've done an article over at GE.
Sony PSP Specs Information
Close examination of the specs seems to suggest some odd things - most importantly, it looks like Sony will be implementing region codes after all.
(I had submitted this article, but it looks like with this one FPed, my one will get lost) -
Re:too much press without productOh, sorry, I thought you were pointing out a deficiency in the X-Box line up. I don't think very many games can beat DOA in that regard.... I'm thinking about getting an X-box for DOA Online, actually. (Well, that and the SNK games that are coming to the platform SNK's Xbox Plans (which will also, natch, have teenage Japanese girls in shorts skirts.... ) SNK Forever!
I still have to think about it though...

This is insane !
How can a company be dead when their leading console ( Gameboy advance / advance sp ) has the highest user base in Japan.
http://www.ningc.com/news.php?article=3953.
And just hit the 10 million mark in europe.
http://www.bdgamer.net/index.php/item/index.php/ca tegory/4/blogid/index.php/item/7307/catid/4
And it's more expensive over here at the current exchange rate thats well over a billion dollar gross in europe alone.
The combined sales of gamecube and gameboy advance are dominating the market at 51% of all consoles sold last month and this figure ISN'T from Nintendo it's from the retailers !!!

Perhaps the writer and the sony/microsnot toadie analysts should have done some research before proclaiming the big N dead.

Re:Wrong Section: X-Plane is not a game
Too damn right
The problem is, I work at gamerseurope.com, (you notice the whole gamers bit), and the UK Distributors told us to review it as a game rather than a sim. So we did. God did we get flamed. Flamed to phuck. See Here
