Re:Yeah but with the electoral college & senat
I didn't notice that, but I did notice that Kavanaugh has an unusual number of blemishes on the right side of his crooked face, to the extent that he always tries to show his left profile. Like, something ugly in there wants out. See what I mean? This also shows how his mouth is twisted one way and his eyes are twisted the other.
I mean, if this was just anybody I wouldn't notice. But this is a deeply evil man. With a twisted face. Much like you I expect.

Re:What flying cars?
There are flying cars
There are roadable planes; a "flying car" will look more like a submarine.

Re:Jobs not important?
Says who? The EPA didn't list Racine County under the 2008 standards, didn't list it under the initial list of nonattainment areas for the 2015 standards, and didn't list it under the additional areas list that was just published. Well after the Foxconn plant was announced, the EPA told Wisconsin they expected to list Racine County as a nonattainment area, but later changed their mind.
Um, as you yourself wrote, the EPA?
"Tuesday's announcement was a shift from the EPA's stance in December when it determined a much broader area of southeastern Wisconsin failed to meet ozone standards.
At that time, the EPA declared Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington and Racine counties in violation. The same was true for northern Door County and Kenosha County east of I-94. The EPA also found that areas near the shoreline of Sheboygan and Manitowoc counties in violation."
And in case you missed it in the final rule:
Oddly an almost contigious non-attainment area simply skips Racine county, because air pollution totally does that. But I'm sure that the chage versus the recommendation was totally data-driven. Have fun in court.

yeah this is creepy slashdot
Especially since it's been proven that CNN deliberately showed a photo of Trump's inauguration in the early morning, well before the place filled.
Many images, but even a half-witted rabbit could figure out that CNN were looking to stir sh** as usualPlease stay out of politics Slashdot.

Re:documentary on Chernobyl
I'm a lifelong proponent of nuclear energy, and I've often vented my rage at the mindless knee-jerk reactionary opposition to nuclear energy voiced by "greenies" who over-inflate accidents caused by infamously careless and dysfunctional regimes. I tell you this so you'll understand the significance when I say that your point is not lost on pro-nuke activists.
"We almost Lost Detroit is one of my favorite nonfiction books - especially because I was born and raised in Fermi I's potential fallout shadow. The book does a lovely job of documenting other costly accidents and near misses as well. Nuclear energy scares the hell out of me - and I think any pro-nuke activist should feel the same. I'm also an avid firearms enthusiast, and as any gun owner can tell you the rules of gun safety are based on multi-layered, defense-in-depth paranoia. It is not a question of if you will make a mistake, but when. Failing to apply this same standard to nuclear energy is insane, and we can't expect anyone to take our advocacy seriously if we brush off their concerns as fear-mongering, Luddite hysteria or flat-out ignorance. All three are present in anti-nuke activism, but that doesn't excuse us from the valid fears that need answering.
Those fears are why Americans proof-test our containment buildings to an extremely high standard. It's why our containment domes (Fermi I, shown here) are a damn sight more spacious than those used by other nations, which might explain why ours don't fail and others have. It's not enough to sit around and point out how the Soviet Union was a pack of incompetent bastards, or how Fukushima was the result of breathtakingly corrupt practices in government and industry, with half the employees being Yakuza, terrifyingly slapdash construction (when two major pipes didn't meet up in the middle like they were supposed to, hooking an earthmover to it, bending the pipe a bit and welding it together wasn't unheard of,) and laughable government "oversight" (i.e. "descent from heaven.") To dismiss these incidents is to say "it can't happen here" and most certainly can. And fear of that keeps the sharp edge on the vigilance needed to ensure it never does.

Canada? Superpower status?
What made them think they ever had that?
Anyway, the good news is hearing we are seriously breaking the habit. But energy is a trivial issue... How are we going to use it to distribute water to where it is needed and away from where it isn't?

Some of them actually look rather luxurious. This one, on the other hand, looks like 3-class on the titanic.

Re:Gun-free zone?
There are two sites I would like to point out as well.
A map view of every mass killing (4 or more people) in the US since 2006. By the way 218 of the 290 listed here were done using a gun.
http://www.gannett-cdn.com/GDContent/mass-killings/index.html#exploreAlso a list of homicides per country, (yes I know not every homicide is committed with a gun, but it is still pretty telling). I suggest sorting it via Rate which is homicides per 100,00 people.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rateBoth of these sites tell me that the US has a problem with gun violence. Now as to whether the solution is to get better mental health treatment, limit gun sales, limit types of guns that are sold, or anything else, I am not sure. But like most problems today there is not a simple solution, and anyone who says that this will be solved with one thing (whether it is more guns or no guns) doesn't understand reality.
But in the US we can't continue to ignore this, because it is going to keep happening until we do something about it. I just wish we had a government that would attempt to do something about this.

Re:They Never thought he had a bomb...
What a stupid cracker may look like
I guarantee that whoever that cop in the picture is, he wasn't the one deciding what kind of charges were to be brought against Ahmed.
Here is a picture of the police chief of Irving, Texas:

And here's a picture of him standing with his posse:

[note: Take a look at the faces in that photo. Now remember that Irving, Texas is 60% minority. Get the picture?]
Here is a picture of the mayor of Irving, Texas, who has been giving speeches about how Muslims are gonna take over the US legal system:

Yes, I stand by "stupid cracker". If you have a more apt term, I'm keen to hear it.

Re:So about 8' from my front door?
Im 90% sure that image is a mockup. The link to Federal times has a much more realistic image.
The Federal Times also notes that the drone is 10 lbs, which further cements my belief that the massive drone in the picture is a mockup or test device.
