Using Google Maps to Get Out of a Traffic Ticket
Michael Nguyen writes "Edwin uses Google Maps to prove to the judge his traffic ticket was wrongly issued, saving himself some cash and points on his license. During his testimony, Edwin whips out a notebook, loads up Google Maps and upstages the offending officer with some quick Google Map searches." I wonder if anyone's gotten out of a ticket by showing how inaccurate most speed-check methods can be. -
XBox 360 Designed for Portability?
Spotless Tiger writes "XBox enthusiasts (or at least, those smart enough to read Slashdot) know now that IBM's PowerPC is at the heart of the next generation XBox 360. IBM has released a paper (PDF) on Solid Logic Technology, SLT, a processor technology that will debut on the 360. Essentially, this is another attempt to produce chips that are high performance with low power consumption. There's speculation that, with Microsoft's technology choices and rumours of a removable hard drive, the XBox 360 is designed to be much, much, smaller and more portable than its predecessor." Why Apple Makes a One-Button Mouse

It points out the fact that although it is perfectly possible to use a two-button mouse on a Mac for 7 years now, developers are forced to rethink their design approach and can't flood the right-click menu. There's a rumor that John Carmack once asked Steve Jobs what would happen if they'd put one more key on the keyboard." -

XBox Owner Sues Microsoft
drusoicy writes "Reuters is reporting that Sean Burke has filed suit against Microsoft because his XBox system stopped reading discs (games or otherwise) after less than one year of use. Many XBox owners can relate, as XBox hard drives are known for crashing. 'The defective XBox's stop working after minimal usage, after unreasonably, unconscionably, unusually and unexpectedly short amounts of time,' the lawsuit said. The suit will probably become class action, and seeks to represent anyone who has purchased an XBOX since the 2001 launch." -
