Playstation 3 then?
Does that mean that Sony will soon provide DivX 7 support on the PS3 and PSP? I wrote about the potential here - http://lodge.glasgownet.com/2008/12/29/ps3-and-matroska-could-be-soon/
Could we soon be streaming MKV files over the network to it, or playing them directly, with no transcoding? -
Re:Official Secrets Act != Terrorism Charge
The British police are also interested in those odd people who walk around with GPS devices and then start drawing maps in a cafe. OpenStreetMappers beware.

Re:Vista SP1 isn't public yet, unless you pirate i
You don't need to go to Pirate Bay at all for Vista SP1 or XP SP3. They are both available on WindowsUpdate if you make one change to your registry to permit downloading of the patch. I wrote briefly about such a feature here

Re:One wonders......
Sadly a NAS will just not cut it. I wrote about the apparent lack of a Linux solution just here a while back. Maybe with the advent of Samba4, shadow copies, domain memberships, mdadm improvements and so on, we may get close to something as integrated.

Old news
I wrote about this over a week ago. Welcome to April.

Pictures of it
I visited these dudes a few years ago, when down at my friends employers and visiting their cuppliers (Armari). Got loads of pictures of the Cray T3d right here. Wonderful machine, wonderfully kept.
Dans machine wasn't quite (apparently) 'the first off the production line - Edinburgh uni (where this T3D came from) wanted one that could be upgraded without a lot of hassle. Cray could only offer them this one, which was their testbed unit, wired for a full complement of processors, but not fully populated. That's why it's innards are absolutely stuffed full of wires. Each wire is also a specific length, to ensure that the length of time it takes for electricity to flow down the wire is accurately accounted for in terms of clock ticks.
The power switch that the author wished he'd taken a picture of is here
I loved Dans demo of the differing weight of cooling liquids. He had a milk bottle full of water, weighing a kilo or so, and then an identical bottle weighing about 3 kilos. The plumbing for the liquid cooling was done by a bottling plant systems manufacturer in Daytona if memory serves, and the metal braided hoses that are used in it are of the same type used in Formula One and Nascar cars. Wicked stuff :-) -

One network in Glasgow, ScotlandI'm part of the Glasgow Wireless Network project --- GlasgowNet. We are just starting up but hope to become part of the Consume.net system that was mentioned in the article. GlasgowNet is attempting to provide free public wireless internet access to the Glasgow community. We seek to build on the philosophies of 'open source' and 'free software' and create a philosophy and application of 'open networks'.
Also you may be interested in the Edinburgh Wireless network --- Backnet which is a little more established than Glasgow. Both projects are generating a lot of interest but we need as many people as possible so if you are interested then check out the Consume.net Node Database to find out who's near you.
The GlasgowNet page also has some news, reviews and articles that may be of use to people interested in Wireless networks. Both Backnet and GlasgowNet have IRC channels so feel free to come on and have a chat. The Backnet channel is #backnet on irc.backnet.org.uk and GlasgowNet is #glasgownet on the same server. If you don't have an IRC client then GlasgowNet is testing a Java applet IRC interface that you may want to try.

I think I found a copy of that Alcatel document. Here's a mirror http://www.glasgownet.com/CPE_statement.PDF"
