some kind of "you automatically lose the argument if the WHOIS returns a hit" rule, sort of like Godwin's Law.
And that domain appears to be for sale by owner through NameSeek.

quote: "The result is 95% market domination by Microsoft. But that's not a market economy. That's not even capitalism. That is a state-capitalist, state-sanctioned monopoly that Mussolini would have smiled on."
Carefully using a comparison to Mussolini to avoid Godwins Law I see :) -
Re:Not as bad as it looks? The problem is that no one ever directly confronts the nazis directly with counter-speech. Calling someone or some group "nazi" is supposed to settle any debate before it has started. Calling opponents "nazi" has become so common that it should be listed among other well know fallacies such as slipery-slope and straw-man arguments.
I suppose the "nazi" fallacy is related to the ad hominem. But it really has gone beyond that and taken on a life of its own. Godwin was right.

Godwin's Law
As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.Corollary of Practicality
There is a tradition in many groups that, once this occurs, the thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress. Godwin's Law thus practically guarantees the existence of an upper bound on thread length in those groups. -
Re:Procedural Minimum for Democracy
I invoke Godwin's Law. You get nothing, sir, good day.

Re:BSA shows it's colors
I invoke Godwin's law. This thread is over.

Re:Devil's Advocate
They had been attempting to create an early-stage human embryo, with the aim of harvesting stem cells for the use to treat patients with disorders such as Parkinson's and heart disease.
How dare they! They could cure some terrible disease and protect future generations! But what about the children??
To play Devil's Advocate again (but not invoking Godwin's Law), if a medical procedure is developed using unethical means, even if the procedure can be used for the greater good, should it be used? -
Suggestion: Godwin's Law Filter
I'd like to invoke Godwin's Law and end this thread now.
Maybe someone can just add a godwin's law filter to slash?
if (/hitler|nazi/) { die "Godwin's law exception!"; }
