Re: Demo or it didn't happen
Hey! The iceberg was just sitting around in the middle of nowhere minding its own business until some big ass doomed ship that was ALREADY on FIRE rammed into it causing the pristine iceberg to be scarred forever.

Re: Qualcomm deserve to die
Well Apple invented nothing just like how ford didn't invent anything with Model T.
Enough with that already.... its obvious.... and also obviously off topic.
For your info Google, Samsung both formally backed Apple on this to prevent Qualcomm from further abusing their monopoly to raise prices further.

Re:Confused..They have that in a few places in Singapore and it's not a very nice view: https://www.google.com.sg/maps...
I think there is a reason why they're not doing more of it.

This is the least of their problems.

Re:not protects
They definitely have lots of resources.
Many people have no idea about "P2P". So they go to a place and buy a disk that comes from a factory[1] much like those used to make the originals. And they stick it in their DVD/Bluray player, and it works. No need for all that fancy master key stuff. If it doesn't work, they return to the seller and get it swapped for another disk - doesn't even have to be the same movie!
So there certainly are counterfeit Bluray disks out there, with sleeves, packaging etc. Strangely many of them don't copy the original packaging but make their own with "Engrish" descriptions etc.
This HDCP bullshit and other crap (region restrictions) hurts the legit purchasers far more than the pirates.

Re:Huh?
Starting the students on Vista is more like training gladiators with swords made out of aluminum foil.
In swordfighting, the parry movement means when the enemy is about to stab you, you use your own sword to push his sword away quickly.
With Windows Vista, you get this pop-up in the middle of combat:
"Windows needs your permission to continue
If you started this action, continue.Parry Movement
Arm Motor ControlTo continue, type an administrator password, and then click OK.

Re:Drivel
Yet I've not seen any criticism of Lewis' allegory in their correspondence.
you haven't been reading the right sources. try this search and read the first few links.
that said, anyone who's read the silmarillion and missed the obvious paradise lost influence in the ainulindale is a moron. moreover, the whole world is massively influenced by the medieval "everything was perfect, then there was the Fall, now it's all going to pieces" worldview. (concisely expressed in the phrase "arda marred", as seen in, iirc, the last few sentences of the silmarillion.) -
Re:Wrong: Linux DLL names encode ABI compatibilityYou'd expect that the GCC guys knows what they are doing, but stdc++ suffers from such versioning problems.
The actual cause of this issue is a versioning incompatibility between different versions of libstdc++-so.6.

Alternative uses for newspaper
Darn, now I'd have to think of other ways, when I'm stuck in the toilet, out of toilet paper!
Obligatory FoxTrot reference (something about swatting someone with a "Rolled up Internet").

SCO != TSCOGSCO Xenix was a product of The Santa Cruz Operation (they of the $100 support questions and crappy UUCP implementations on 286s).
On the other hand, The SCO Group (they of the bogus lawsuits, numerous slashdot articles and $699 Unix IP licenses) is actually a different company and not the SCO of Xenix times. (You have to wade through pages and pages of junk before you get to the appropriate lines - sorry about the google cache but www.sco.com seems to be down!)
- 2001 On May 7, Caldera Systems completes the acquisition of SCO's Server Software and Professional Services Divisions, becoming Caldera International (Caldera) and providing the world's largest Linux/UNIX channel.
- 2002 Caldera names a new CEO, Darl McBride.
- 2002 Caldera changes its name to The SCO Group (SCO), returning to the SCO brand.
