Re:I read the newsgroup postings... one suggestion
Why watch that movie when I can see all the left wing trolling I want for free on Slashdot?
Because it's always a good idea to know diferent points of view. And after watching the movie (if you will), make a little mental exercise with your hability to form opinions: Read these opinions from some folks who, just like you, seem to have disagreed with the movie but, unlike you, seem to have watched it first.
Good Luck.

Re:I have one thing to say to this,
There you did it.
Now michael moores next movie is going to be a comparision of Linux and nazism. -
Re:Can't believe this got modded up to 5
No, the French hate Americans, no wonder there was a standing ovation at a movie that blatantly ripped on us.
Truth about Bowling
Want a real link? There you have it. Real facts, real commentary on why Michael Moore's movie is hack job. Might not be 'blatantly obvious', but it was definitely meant to be misleading. Check out the comparison of the first speech Heston gives. It's not about statistics, it's about unethical and sometimes fraudulent misrepresentation of another groups's words and actions. You complain when Microsoft uses the same mislead tactics against Linux. But when it's against America, that's in vogue, must be okay. -
Re:Don't all move to this!
The Bubonic Plague started in China in the 1330's, actually. I wonder what would have happened if they'd spent some cash doing research on that "crazy backwoods disease" before it hit London in 1665?
I'm not going to touch the Moore side of things, I have several problems with his "documentary", and the contents thereof, and how it is presented. -
Re:Someone should've told...
There's more truth to it than there is to Bowling for Columbine...

Re:Bowling for Columbine
I can't stand people use the word "clue" to describe a quality (or for that matter, people who attach a suffix such as "-ful").

Re:Lack of liberties (e.g. Privacy) != Security
do you really think terrorism is a threat to your life?
My life? Yes, very much so. But I don't expect you to share this opinion; it's influenced strongly by where I am and what I do for a living.
go see bowling for columbine if you havent already.
I know you're not serious. You know Bowling for Columbine grossly misrepresented its subject matter, right? -
Future Michael Moore employee
Maybe Michael Moore will pick this guy up to work on his next documentary.
The truth about Bowling for Columbine -
Re:First the RIAA and now this all in one day?Seen "Bowling for Columbine"?
Yeah. Didn't much care for it. I really liked "Roger & Me", but it struck a chord with my mostly populist views. BFC struck me as too much of a "hip, urban elitist liberal" work in that it conveniently ignored reality in order to reach what I think was a predetermined conclusion of Mr. Moore's. In my opinion, he's become just another lock-step liberal hoping the Hollywood Beautiful People will accept him if he parrots their cherished platitudes.

Re:Adrien Brody was legendary
And what's with your racial "Stupid White Men" comment?
Uh, Wraithlyn, that's the name of Moore's book (check the link in previous post).
I'm not saying he isn't talented. I'm just saying that he makes a very good living making provocative comments, and I don't see anything brave in that. Unless you consider Howard Stern, Rush Limbaugh, etc. to be brave, too.
Peace be with you,

Thruth about BowlingWrong information is everywhere. Here an interesting article about Michael Moore and his academy awards movie.
I haven't see the movie yet, I can't really be objective on this. But I think there is a good thing to remember: "never trust anybody only because everybody do"

Re:Michael Moore Nominated Biggest UnAmericanMoore does make some good points, perhaps the most important being the culture of fear. I agree with him on that (even if he uses the same tactics at times in the documentary). However, he's a bit lacking in the details, and at times he flat-out lies, makes up statistics, and edits speeches to give them a different focus than the speaker originally had. I recommend this article for some interesting reading.
