Re:A sad day in music history
Hundreds of peaceful dancers threatened with guns, and dozens beaten and arrested. This was a fully licensed event, and the police simply ripped up the permits and waved their guns.
And now, for the other side of the story.
Raves come under scrutiny because of the trouble that often comes from them. Drugs, underage drinking, and the problems that can come from having both of those things combined with a large group of people. Therefore when a rave happens, undercover police check them out and see if there are illegal activities occurring.
"Saturday's rave kicked off at 9 p.m., and by 10 p.m. undercover detectives with the Utah Major Crimes Task Force had observed 'numerous illegal activities' involving drugs and alcohol. They also verified that more than 250 people were at the party in violation of county statutes."
"At least 60 arrests were made for weapons offenses, DUI, illegal underage consumption of alcohol, possessions of marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine and ecstasy. Arrests also were made for resisting arrest, assault on police officer and disorderly conduct."
"'There's no doubt in my mind that this one could have been at 2,000 plus (people),' he said. 'That's why we hit it so early.'"
So, pretty much you're full of shit. -
Re:Ding Dong the Witch Is DeadThese jokes about death are not funny.
Remember, this is a case involving a self described gun nut who travels under assumed names
Bloomberg News
This same nut in a company conference call described hiring people to follow PJ.
Darl McBride, chief executive of SCO Group Inc., says he sometimes carries a gun because his enemies are out to kill him. He checks into hotels under assumed names. This is a case involving "suicides" of people who have disagreements with the SCO management team that even SCO supporters can't explain (DiDio calling it "shocking and mystifying" and even Enderle saying "Why commit suicide right after the settlement when the people you wanted gone are gone? The timing doesn't seem right, given that things were presumably going her way as far as the lawsuit was concerned".
Given the context, death isn't funny, even when talking about wicked witches like OGara.

His hometown paper?
The paper is published by a individual that lives in another town and is the mayor of that town. This individual set up shop in Crawford while Bush was running for President. The large majority of the town does not agree with this "outsider."

IBM Postpones Jan 23 Hearing?
In this article
Blake Stowell is quoted as saying:
Stowell said IBM's attorneys have requested for a postponement of a hearing scheduled Jan. 23 on evidence of the infringing code IBM had requested from SCO. No new court date has been set, and IBM could not be reached for comment.
Is this true? or is Stowell just blowing more smoke.
And just for the quote index Stowell is also quoted as saying (in reference to Novell):
"The company believes it's time to put a stop to the misleading statements that have gone on long enough and is causing confusion in the marketplace."

Re:Amusing possiblity ....
According to an article in Utah County's Daily Herald Noorda had completely divested his Novell shares by the year 2000. Apparently he sold the last of his shares while Novell was still at $42 per share.
