Re:Disney tested this out years ago...From http://www.hiddenmickeys.org/WDW/Property/Secrets/Secrets.html. (I can't independently confirm this, but why would anyone lie on the Internet?)
The blip on STOL Port holds a lot of mystery and always has. STOL Port is quite a work of art if you know the secret. It was formed as not just an airstrip, but as a test ground for the property roads. It is laid out in sections that comes together at different in different lengths. As a plane lands and rolls over the connecting sections, the bumping from a single axle vehicle makes/plays Zip-a-dee-doo-da. The imagineer who thought of this was rumored to have wanted to do the roads like this, but people did not get it. It is guessed that the problem lay with 2 axle vehicles that distorted the melodies. CONFIRMED: anon 01 AUG 97

Re:Good luck to Steve J...
I am really afraid the suits at Disney will instead incarcerate the creativity from Pixar in a small, poorly lighted warehouse on the outskirst of Disneydom therby inducing an unrecoverable state of mediocrity. The impact of mediocrity will be heralded by hidden Mickeys in Pixar movies in an attempt to gain attention from the Disney suits.

Unauthorized Content
The only way to get the toy to say something not intended is to somehow capture and retransmit the IR data, or to create your own circuit that reponds to the transmitters. A group has been created to figure out the system at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/re_palmickey
Just think. Someone manages to reverse engineer the network being used and publishes specs that enable anyone with the desire to plug in to this network with their favorite PDA. Then someone maps out the locations of various signals one will encounter. The next step would be customized content.
Maybe it'll be a hidden Mickey guide. Or maybe a guide of more morbid fare.
What would Disney do? -
Uphill water flow at Disneyworld since 1971..
Since the 70's, there has been a cave on Tom Sawyer Island in Disneyworld in which water appears to flow uphill.
The Imagineers did it cleverly with a slanted room and no point of reference. Not as geeky, but a really cool effect nonetheless which amazed me back in the day. -
Re:Disneyland, Take Notes!
Uh, you haven't been to disneyland in a while have you? Astro Orbitor is still there, it is still a kids ride, remember. Innoventions has been replaced by the GM corporate-future area. Space mountain is unchanged. They added the new rocket sled ride which gives you a 60mphish ride around tomorrowland, and (three years ago when I was there) they had the line for it wind through the old circlevision room.
Unfortunately, you're right that they took out the submarines :( That was one of the cool one's.
Another summary I read was that when disney started using animatronics, they started thinking that EVERY ride could be "solved" using animatronics. A cool site on other stuff like that is at hiddenmickeys.

Disney World airstrip
I was surprised that they did not mention the airstrip at Disney World in Florida, adjacent to the approach road to the Magic Kingdom. Perhaps because it is no longer recognized by the FAA, and is instead being used for bus staging.
According to this page, Imagineers built grooves into the runway which would cause aircraft axles to rattle off "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah" upon take-off or landing. -
Re:Easy to Spot
Great. Not only will we have the usual series of people hunting for hidden meaning in "crop circle" patterns... but we'll have another group hunting for hidden Mickeys.
