Depends on the depth of unemployment. For one thing, Zero is Slave Wages, and people will sell themselves into slavery long before they starve, so yes, one could make a case for Zero Wages as the future of labour. A depressing and dystopian vision of future labour, not one without precedent.

For another - if you're dealing with people who have no money, they will sell their computer and cut their internet off before they starve, making the whole point completely moot.

His position is deeply flawed. If money is tight, not only will companies seek cheap or free solutions, individuals who are far less capitalised will do much the same. Also, if money is so tight that blog based news suffers THIS DOES NOT MEAN that there will be some magical investment in paid journalism.

I humbly submit that Keen is a Troll, and he spews this nonsense just to get noticed and get his page count up.

I set up a profile at classmates.com, but it really just contains a "puzzle encrypted" email address and a picture (not of me) from hotchickswithdouchebags.com to add a little je ne sais quoi.

The problem is, when they hit a midlife crisis, rather than do something MEANINGFUL, like bug out of the rat race, they instead dump their wives and kids for a trophy girl, get drunk a lot and spin their way into debt on a sports car and trinkets for the trophy, like this fat idiot and his bleeth.

when faced with a crisis, people tend to panic, and they don't always make the best choices when they're flopping around like fish on the existential beach.

Me? I turned 40 and flipped out, but instead of the bleeth and the car, I talked with my wife, went back to school and got into academia... teaching university is incredibly intense, but lots of fun, and now we're a happy family living and teaching abroad. Yay!

If this singapore company is acting as described in TFA, then they are just a bunch of douchebags who make The Gator or Fish Slap look like first rate intellectuals and gentlemen. Pure simple Assholes, and should pay for everyone's legal fees when they lose this in court.
