Re:Let me see...
The first pornographic movie I ever saw - Looking for Love -- featured a plot with reasonable amount of dialog. The setting was a sexual therapist's office and waiting room which featured a plant which, unbeknownst to the doctor and his patients, made horny anybody who smelled it after they sprayed it with water. It worked wonders for the impotent man and his wife, the doctor's secretary and some random woman, and a few others.
Plus, it was also the first time I'd seen a woman penetrated with a Vidal Sassoon Hairspray can. -
Re:They can block and/or punish consumption
So, can you offer a single good reason why anyone would reasonably use "Barney" or "Barbie" or "Pokemon" as keywords for a site featuring a naked woman with semen all over her face?
Umm, the fact that there are dozens of porn stars called Barbie, a couple of porn stars named Barney and a couple of directors named Barney?
There's probably Pokemon Hentai too, even if the owners of the trademark don't want it used to describe same.
Should it be a felony for Lanny Barbie's official fan site to use her name in their meta tags?
This points to the whole reason why the law is pointless: it's clearly going to fail a basic First Amendment test.

Serenity? The porn star?
Serenity the adult film star has her own comic book? Cool!

Re:The actual article
Have you ever seen a black hole?
Very many indeed -
Some things should be kept quiet
It comes with a handy reference card that helpfully explains "You can also find an actor in an Adult program by saying 'Find Adult Actor' and the actor's name".
Thanks, but I'd rather not let everyone in the house know that I'm looking to watch some pr0n.
If you want to know who's in what movie or vice versa, it's much better to do a little quiet research here-- plus, it's free! -

Re:bound to happen
When was the last time you heard of a 30-year-old porn star?
Nina Hartley, who started in the business in 1984 at about age 25 and is still doing movies, is the extreme example, but there are plenty of porn stars who were still making movies when they were 30. Janine and Julia Ann are two more. Just about any of them that got started in the early 90's and were popular enough to still be working now are 30. Asia Carrera is 29 and shows no sign of retiring from hardcore.

Re:Why is this a problem?
a good source for movie reviews
I don't see how divx can really be such a great way to find out about flicks compared to a good review, or even usenet buzz or word of mouth.
Reviews are quick and easy to digest. It's much nicer to rely on somebody's distillation "it was tedious" than to have to experience the tedium for yourself.
Good reviewers either avoid giving spoilers or announce them upfront. Movies as you note are narrative-based in a way that music for example is not. You can try to understand music narratively, but it's not quite the same. In music you're always absorbed in the moment when you're listening, and the passage between moments structures the experience. So you can listen to your favorite Tchaikovsky symphony and each time even though you know it isn't over yet, there is that tension that puts you on the edge of your seat because the structure of the music creates expectations that defy comprehension in narrative terms, and yeah, movies can do that too, and literature, but when they do we acknowledge their stylistic departure into a modality we call musical; they are no longer regarded as plot-driven, or they achieve a level of temporal integration that transcends or runs in parallel to the kind of narrative organization you've hooked into, and yet paradoxically the narrative elements will retain their centrality and become even more accentuated--that's perhaps the fulcrum of cinematic language, where mucical modalities of meaning and time intersect with narrative and push the movie forward--for me anyway previewing a movie would destroy that, so much so that I find the very idea of previewing a movie to be anti-cinema and nonsense. Much better to read another person's five paragraph review.
I sometimes read reviews of porn movies too, which is arguably pointless if you just want to wank off--and who would pay for that privilege?--, but useful if you have some serious kink or cinema fetish or just want to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Re:Not exactly.....If you're talking about the proof of age stuff, then you're certainly correct. However, I was talking about a more recent ruling (like 1-2 years ago) that actually makes it illegal to portray characters as being underage. And then, to cover their butts, producers make sure that anyone that looks like they might be underage specifically state that they're not in the context of the movie.
This seems to have made life tough for some of the starlets whose claim to fame was that they looked underage, like Little Cinderella, who you might know as the cocaine overdosing ``Lady Friend'' of Colonel James in Boogie Nights.
