Re:who cares?

related linksA couple of web sites that (1) have in the past done a great job of catching these kind of things, and (2) have mailing lists you can subscribe to:
Here's a minor example of something those two sites didn't catch: Remember Iraq's so-called "mobile biological weapons factories"? A month after the story broke that they were for weather balloons, the CIA moved their report's URL.
An intriguing fact about this whitehouse.gov/*/iraq thing is that they do in fact cover some of the important statements which are apparently not duplicated in the press release, conference, and briefing directories. Perhaps there was a "unique urgency" to cover up some poor choices of words?

You think that's bad? Check this out!
In America the politicians are always just frontmen for large corporations. This is what American "democracy" is all about.
Still MPAA frontman at least doesn't get people killed...It's the mouthpeices for the "defense" industry that are really dangerous.
If you want to know more about American corporatism feel free to watch this documentary . The intro sequence is in dutch but then it switches to english with subtitles. It's in realmedia, which kinda sucks, but just check it out anyways. It's worth watching if you want to know what American "democracy" is all about... -

Democracy starts at home.
I saw this "Breaking the Silence" report on the telly the other night... very well worth watching, and rather disturbing. I just wish he'd do something with his hair.

The #1 ArticleI've been following this for some time... People may remember the "Truth behind 911" video that is available via Bittorrent at Suprnova (search for Suprnova mirrors via Google)
Check out: http://www.newamericancentury.org/RebuildingAmeri
c asDefenses.pdfThis has been quite disturbing to everyone I've talked to about it... My wife flat out refuses to talk to be about it because it makes so much sense and is so upsetting... This has gotten a lot of press lately. Check out:
911 and the Bush Administration
The GuardianThose with Weblogs should contribute to the weblog project mentioned on Metafilter about this:
WHO were you?Unfortunately, it just makes more sense that we provoked these arabic countries to either let us build a pipeline to feed China with Oil, or we would do it by force. "A carpet of Gold, or a carpet of Bombs..."

Re:Nice technology - wrong forum to highlight it oOh for "crying out loud." Please get off the democratic high-horse, your commander-in-chief wasn't even elected, and the electoral process is only realistically for the wealthy elites! It's 3 parts representative oligopoly and two parts out-and-out plutocracy; the racism and human rights record is nothing to brag about, the level of propaganda is particularly intense, and you're well into redefining a new version of global empire.
If you must fall into the role of jingoist and ideologue by demonizing publications of vaguely defined enemies, at least try to be a little more accurate... "women aren't allowed to drive"--indeed! But only in the US supported regime.
And in other news, bacteria still run the planet.

Re:Government
As for our government being corrupt, should we be surprised that the prize of building a wireless phone system in Iraq goes to WorldCom?
I doubt we've had such a corrupt administration since Teapot Dome.
The FCC is being overruled by Congress on media ownership. Maybe this can be reveresed there too. True capitalist-favoring Congresscritters don't like monopoly. After all, if the business community isn't divided it competes with their own power, and monopoly businesses aren't so motivated to bid against each other for political support. -

There is plenty of other information available on the incidents mentioned above. As with anything on the web, it is merely a matter of deciding whose version to buy into. The info above probably warrants a grain of salt similar in size to anything you would see on CNN. -

Ways out. . .The only way out is to kill.
It's past noon, my friend. It's getting too late even for civil uprising. The lock-down is very nearly complete, and people are too dazed to realize it. If you wanted to organize a civil war, I don't think you could pull it together without getting yourself vanished long before you managed to get anything started. You couldn't use the net; you'd have to do it in basements and using local people, (And good luck finding enough like-minded neighbors willing to die for their country!)
The science of cell networks with physical go-betweens is long dead. People have been numbed into blithering stupidity. --A great many of them still believe that Bush is 'da man. (With the exception of the ecconomy. But so what? Bush will either rig another election, or the guy from the other side will get in. --Who also happens to be a Bonesmen this time around. Gee, no kidding?)
I hate to say it, but the ship is done for. It is now the time to get yourself out of America toot-sweet. 'Cuz in a few short years, French and German shells are going to be raining through American skies. --But not before Bush and his gang of psychopaths has turned the middle east into a firey cauldron and scooped up all native dissenters, such as yourself.
This is not a drill. Check out this site on American concentration camps. --A little alarmist, but there is a healthy dose of real info in there, too. Here are several others. . . Ashcroft plan Okanagon County And my 'favorite', which describes just how willing American soldiers are to break the Geneva Convention in Afghansitan when dealing with 'terrorists'.
Brutal. And for the most part, invisible. Seriously. Buy a mini-van and load up what you need, or ship your essential stuff, board a plane and get out. It's not as hard as it sounds, and hey, you might just live to see the end of the decade.
Cheers.

Who owns your vote?
(a) Each agency shall make available...
What does agency mean here? My assumption is it refers only to parts of government - possibly specifically only the federal government - and is not applicable to private corporations.
Who owns the private corporations that make these voting machines?
A friend of mine sent me a link to a very scary article. (I have no more verified the information in this article than I have that of the NYTimes.)
I find the idea that those running for public offices have or have had even partial ownership of the corporations producing these voting machines to be pretty frightening. There are many close elections in various states during every round of elections. All it would take to hijack a number of elections is code sending every 10th vote cast for your candidate to go to the candidate of the opposing party. With no paper trail, or public means of verification (and by public I don't mean the "independent" paid consultants this corporations hires to tell you it's safe) how do you know where your vote is going?
Why aren't these voting machines open source?

The Game's Plot
Stage 1: Create an atmosphere of distrust in the global community so you can be the only one to have to split the spoils with.
Stage 2: Immediately declare the war already over, then invade. Ruthlessly crush your enemy using your advanced weapons technology while holding press conferences warning of the enemy's really big, scary weapons.
Stage 3: Threaten all of the neighbors of the country in an attempt to spread the war without having to go through all the nasty 'diplomacy' this one took.
Stage 4: Capture Iraqi cities, stage the toppling of previous ruler's statue using paid Iraqi stooges.
Stage 5: Capture Iraqi cities, occupy them, set up roadblocks.
Stage 6: Shoot anyone who approaches roadblocks without stopping, just in case they're a suicide bomber.
Stage 7: Declare war over from the USS Abraham Lincoln, again, even while grenade attacks and suicide bombings continue.
Stage 8: ?????
Stage 9: Profit! Stage 6: Contain protests by shooting into the crowds 3 times in two weeks. -
Re:No Blood for Water
...but I though global warming was a eurotrash conspiracy? At least get your propoganda straight, comrade.
PS: If you're still feeling gung-ho, USA-Number 1 then take a look at this and let me know what you think. -
Re:You forget. We ARE the world.Nah I can do better - I can prove it with photographs.
There's proof both for the fact that it wasn't happy liberated Iraqis that tore down the Saddam statue, nor is the man on a very widely spread photo of a "happy liberated Iraqi" one - but a US covert operation participant.
There are a lot of lies in this "war" - rest assured a lot of them are made by the US.
-
Re:DiversionsYou go find the speech and dispute the link if you want. If there's anyone doctoring "evidence" it's the USA:
The truth about the Saddam statue and happy liberated Iraqi citizens
Oh - btw - SHUT UP about everyone disliking the terrorist and occupant nation of Israel being anti-semite. It's soooo yesterday, untrue and simply boring having to read.
