Re:Uh..
"The Japanese leadership lied to the Japanese ppl and told
them the Americans were monsters that would torture the
women and children if captured"
And American propaganda told the US population that "Japs" were subhumans who were only good when dead. There's an article at this link (scroll down until you reach a box with a link titled "We Boiled The Flesh Off Enemy Skulls)" which gives a pretty good idea of how entrenched the idea of Japanese as "untermenschen" became in the US:

Re:Multiple death sentences ...Hence the reason I said "Only the most serious/violent need apply". You're not going to do this for someone on a 3-5 stretch for fraud. This is something for those with *very* extended sentences.
Freezing someone for life seems contradictory since once their frozen they technically aren't living and at that point it's more like freezing them for eternity which then amounts to a death sentence. Maybe they can be thawed in X years once we've come up with a better rehab program. Lifers aren't expected to be rehabilitated since they won't be re-entering society.
That being said, there are those in for life or on Death Row that have actually done some good for society and they have been rehabed as best possible. Whether it be providing scholarships, training and rehabbing pets, it is possible.
I'm willing to give people a second chance or to allow them to do some good to make some ammends, that doesn't mean letting them out if their offense was so insane that it warrented their long prison stay in the first place.
Some people can't be rehabbed and will never feel sorry for their crimes or their crime was so heinous that merely locking them in a cell for the rest of their life doesn't seem to do justice. While I'm a supporter of the death penalty, I agree with its detractors in that it's not the deterrent that people think it is. Those who will end up being considered for it most likely live their lives in constant fear of death (talking about the drug runners and gang bangers). Serial killers, child molesters, etc are just on a power trip and should be perfect fodder for these types of experiments.

Really? W's seemed to be missing. The GSA specifically found that the "W" thing was a lie.
Really? The quote I've hear repeated from the GSA is:"the condition of the real property was consistent with what we would expect to encounter when tenants vacate office space after an extended occupancy."
This this FAIR follow-up states:
That leaves little more than "inoperable keyboards"-- i.e., missing W's-- and handmade signs poking fun at Bush-- what Fleischer calls "graffiti." Those stories were long ago confirmed by Democrats and were never described as "vandalism" or "looting" in the media-- including on Fox. To portray them as some kind of retroactive corroboration for the fevered stories about "the trashing of the White House" stretches credulity.
I think I'll let this article stand as my last link on this matter."My sense is there probably was some phones pulled, or whatever; I don't have a way to determine that," Mr. Ungar said, referring to accounts that office lines had been cut. "But there wasn't indication of real, significant, widespread damage."
The white house staff left some pranks, mess and some things missing, but the pundits blew it out of proportion.
But I replied to this: The missing W key story is one of the best debunked lies of this administration. Which is an impressive feat.
If this is the best debunked story, you Americans are pretty starved of debunkings.
P.S. I'm neither Democrat nor Republican. I don't like lying and spin; from either side. -

Re:But is their money where their mouth is?
The realy 'funny' part about the word niggardly, is that a mayor's aid in Washington used it and then later was forced to resign because it was thought he used a racial slur. Search for "niggardly".
Resiging due to the ignorance of others. Thats a sad, sad state of society. -
Still With The "No"
I read your plank last year and it certainly was a major issue you were trying to push.
No, it wasn't a major issue. It wasn't even a minor issue. I never mentioned it once in a single debate, speech, or interview. Nowhere did it appear anywhere on my platform. You obviously have no idea of what you're talking about.
Someone who thinks that OSS solutions are better than CSS solutions is almost by definition a zealot. That you are trying to change it at the government level cements you as an OSS zealot.
My proposal is that OSS be considered along with other proposals. That's hardly zealotry. That's just good fiscal policy.

Re:Two things please....
actually, a "party music" album with original ablum cover would be all but impossible to come by as well as the original album cover was to look like
this (ironically to be printed on sept. 11th, it eventually became this [note burning manhatten, basically the same thing, just a bit more subtle and this time, much more direct]). -
Lust! Desire! The only thing that's kept me from getting one of those geek-toy weather stations is the question of WTF would I do with the data. Finally, an excuse!
Weather Underground has a nice coolness factor, despite their unfortunate choice of names. Clever icons, well-designed site, yada yada. Please note that, although Weather Underground doesn't have an official AvantGo channel, the printer-friendly versions of the pages work very nicely on handhelds.
