Uhhhh...hate to break the news to ya bud, but starting TWO WARS while LOWERING taxes? That has NEVER happened in the entire history of this country, and that dumb shit can be laid squarely at the feet of Dubya. Oh and just FYI but you might want to look at the stats which clearly point out that higher taxes on the wealthy lead to lower unemployement and greater economic growth but don't let that get in the way of the classic right wing "Give teh rich MORE MONIES! Nom nom nom!" rant now. BTW you DO know the teabaggers think rasing payroll taxes, you know, the taxes peasants like you pay, is a-ok? meanwhile Bachmann is talking about how the corps should pay no taxes at all because the rich are just God's blessed don't ya know?

The problem with Obama is he is the biggest damned pussy since Jimmy "I ain't got no backbone!" Carter and hasn't the balls to stand up to teabaggers, or anybody else for that matter. Whatever they want all they have to do is act tough and Obama will roll over like a whipped dog. Of course he will end up winning in 2012 simply because the teabaggers will make sure Perry gets it, and anybody saying "Social security should be wiped out" is about as electable as David Duke, not to mention his "record" is such wonderful things like 1st in teen pregnancies, most people working for minimum wage, most pollution, most HS dropouts, most people without medical or dental care, hell the man makes Dubya look like Lincoln!

Uhhh...because we have seen time and time again how just trying to "fix" the mess by passing ever more rules just piles on the clusterfuck? As for CFLs I can give you a little link to a thing called Yahoo Search which brings up 36,000 pages on CFLs and cancer. Feel free to choose whichever site you would consider a credible source, with 36,000 I'm sure you'll find a few.

Basically the gist of it is the plastics that make up the ring holding the CFL when heated release carcinogens which you then breathe. Surprise surprise, those unintended consequences bite you right in the rear again. Oh I'm sure they'll come out with yet more regulations, that will promptly be ignored by the third world countries we have making the things since they closed the light bulb factories here to make the new ones in China (there is those pesky unintended consequences again) and people will justify the increased risk of cancer on "being green". Of course if you get cancer and die your carbon footprint drops off the chart, so you are REALLY being green then!

Except there is a little problem...WE ARE BROKE...The taxes on the top 1% have never been lower in our nation's history and they will NOT be going up anytime soon, or IMHO ever, thanks to the legalized bribery SCOTUS gave us by equating money with speech and making corps people (they're just like you...only better).

Meanwhile the high tech jobs promised by our new tech economy are are finally here...they are all in India and the new tech corps like Google pay a pittance thanks to the double dutch and other loopholes, oh and in case you haven't heard China is getting ready to dump its dollars so you can ALL say hello to the great depression part II that many of us have been saying for years would come thanks to selling off of this country by offshoring, illegal immigration (currently 85% of illegals with anchor babies are on welfare) and H1-Bs making college pointless for many in the tech sector.

So you want to go back into space? the top tax rate MUST go back to 90% which despite all the rich hoarding and squawking NEVER in our history has more jobs been tied to lower taxes, in fact EVERY boom has had high taxes on the rich (because instead of hoarding they have incentive to invest) along with HIGH tariffs on those shipping our jobs to third world countries that allow pollution so thick you can detect it on the west coast AND a closing of ALL bases and walking away from the two pointless Jihad fests we have going on and instead using those troops to CLOSE THE LEAKING BORDER and repealing the law allowing anchor babies.

Instead what we are gonna have is a full on collapse, we will be NO different than the PIIGS in Europe, mark my words. After a few years in the collapse and Egyptian style riots we will have a new party rise, most likely militant nationalist, the only question now in my mind is whether we shall become xenophobic (preferred) or whether we will take Poland (aka South America) like the last heavily armed nationalist bunch. Shit is about to hit the fans folks, and these bozos are talking moon bases. No wonder our credit rating is becoming as bad as our citizens, which BTW student loan debt has surpassed CC debt and thanks to the rules against bankruptcy not clearing it student defaults have NEVER been higher. Kinda hard to pay for that degree for that job that got sent to Bangalore on a McJob you know?

Hey at least the pope got a catchy song out of it! The closest thing old Bill got to a catchy song was the Ballmer Monkey going "WOOOO!" and bouncing around the stage yelling developers like a silverback on crack. Does anyone else miss old Bill? I miss old Bill, he had that "evil uber nerd" thing down pat. I always pictured him muttering to himself when he crushed a competitor "Yeah! That's what you get for stuffing me in those lockers in junior high school! Who's the shrimp now huh?" while his flunkies tried to blend into the wallpaper to avoid his wrath.

Now that old Bill is gone and Steve is probably in his last days it just isn't the same. In the old days you had such great arguments, with the Apple guys sneering down their noses at the beige boxes while the PC guys made fun of the crazy Apple prices...sigh. Google VS Windows VS Linux just doesn't have the same zing. Google is data mining so much info their knowledge of everyone's business and personal lives makes Ballmer look like a sweaty Care Bear, but you have to give them credit for pulling the wool over the FOSSies by saying they are FOSS friendly while simultaneously keeping Android GPL V2 so the corps can TiVo the hell out of it. Then finally you have Linux which is just...meh. Sure it gets a little better every year, but without a Jobs or Gates to really hog the spotlight and drive sales it is pretty much flat as far as growth.

We just don't have the great figures of evil in tech anymore. Ballmer is the lite beer of evil, half the calories and a total buzz killer, I doubt Jobs will be coming back and Cook just doesn't have the "I am God" attitude that made Jobs great, and RMS going to Cuba and hanging out in South America with Chavez just comes across as a naive hippie. Where is the great evil CEOs of the tech world? Where are those that inspire great loyalty and hatred? Larry Ellison? bah, he comes off as more batshit insane than anything else. Those that come after us simply won't have the great uber evil CEOs of the tech world, instead it'll be get rich quick and get out flash in the pans like Mark Zuckerberg. Bah, it just ain't fun anymore.
