Re:Will Microsoft call on Burson-Marsteller to fix
For me MS stands for http://www.msaustralia.org.au/, http://www.mssociety.org.uk/, http://mssociety.ca/en/ and http://www.nationalmssociety.org/index.aspx, and will always do so. Also the $ was well known and specific use in M$ languages which is part of why the M$ came about so no not just the greed. So don't forget those societies at this time of year or at any other and dig deep after all for us geek and nerds our minds are pretty much everything. So suck it up 12 year old douchebag
;P (and thanks for enabling me to promote them at this time of year it's been quite some time since the last anal retentive type called me up on M$). -
Re:Not quite
Even children can have MS. Pediatric MS

Re:10 LET M$ = "Microsoft"
Yet all those young still don't get it. Plus of course MS was always reserved for http://www.msaustralia.org.au/, http://www.mssociety.org.uk/, http://mssociety.ca/en/ and even http://www.nationalmssociety.org/index.aspx. They spent up big in the 70s and 80s promoting funding for research into multiple sclerosis 'MS', for a condition that affects the brain, something really important to geeks and nerds. So M$ is Microsoft and MSN is Microsoft Networks but MS is multiple sclerosis.

Re:Barring?
MS is reserved for http://www.msaustralia.org.au/, http://mssociety.ca/en/, http://www.mssociety.org.uk/ and http://www.nationalmssociety.org/index.aspx. Get over it already. M$ is for for the whiney softies and MS is for multiple sclerosis. Not that I mind the complaints because every time I see it it gives me the opportunity to promote organisation that are of direct interest to geeks and nerds due the impact of the disease upon our most valuable asset our minds.
So M$ and MSN are the same company (although they should really break up in order to give MSN a creative surge).
As for M$ banning the purchase of Apple products with company funds, it's only logical and really doesn't even rate a mention. In fact M$ should pretty much demand free product from Apple in order to continue development of M$ Software for Apple products. You know, straight up demand, Dear Apple you will supply 25 million dollars worth of Apple hardware (servers, desktops, phones, tablets, operating system) per annum or efforts to develop software for the base will cease and that whilst harsh is logical and acceptable.
M$ should not pay for Apple hardware or software in order to spend more money to develop software for it in order to 'LOSE SALES'.
I can't really understand why M$ marketdroids get so bent out of shape, especially considering the importance of the $ symbol in M$ basic, the use of $ in M$ is far more subtle the M$ marketdroids could ever understand (I tried to use M$ as much as possible in this comment are you eyes bleeding yet
;D ). -
Re:Anti-Trust
You can't seem to grap it is all about perception, it is about the ability of some companies to affect market share of other companies, it is about using dominant market position to further extend market potential and it is about overall product range.
So M$ is in a weak and dangerous legal position. It was fairly easy for a competitor to prove harm over and extended time and, obviously if they are losing market share it provides a quick dirty means by which to recover lost profits and to further tarnish M$'s reputation.
I will always use M$ because every single time some M$ flinkie complains it gives me the opportunity to do this. MS stands for http://www.msaustralia.org.au/ or http://mssociety.ca/en/ or http://www.mssociety.org.uk/ or http://www.nationalmssociety.org/index.aspx. This of course is of special interest to computer geeks and nerds as multiple sclerosis is a degenerative diesease of what gives our group our identity, our minds. So consider donating and ignore the whiny M$ trolls.

Re:Success
You also obviously do no coding and have no idea where the $ use comes from in M$ basic. Also I restrict the use of MS for http://www.msaustralia.org.au/ a charitable organisation that has my full support (I even spent three months diagnosed with the condition turned out just to be a bruised spinal cord). What can I say but get over it dickwad and go here http://www.mssociety.org.uk/ and donate if you really into the pound symbol but if your just a US M$ marketdroid then go here http://www.nationalmssociety.org/index.aspx and donate.

No, obvious ADA violation among other things!
Most likely, this test would open the employer up to a massive Americans with Disability Act lawsuit. I have kidney failure and had two strokes, so I'm sure I would fail all the "hypochondria" questions. In fact, looking at some of the first "hypochondria" questions, I would fail them because I also have acid reflux. I am sure quite a few disabled people, or even people with minor medical problems would fail the "hypochondria" questions. I'm amazed at how fucking scumbags like to shit on people who have medical problems (even minor ones), yet think they are great people who should have a rock star's salary. I hope they come down with a major medical problem and their own firm fires them.
Obviously they are trying to weed out people with disabilities whether or not it applies to the job. This would also detect people who don't even know they have a disability. It could even be a condition which no one in their right mind would consider a disability or even a problem, yet these productive people will be eliminated from having a decent job.
I have seen a common thread where when someone comes down with an ailment and they don't know what it is, persist for years just trying to get doctors and friends and family to even recognize it--instead often being called a hypochondriac, lazy, or whatever. Sometimes there are treatments, but they won't find it if others just dismiss their symptoms. They also should be on disability but are not because doctors will not diagnose them and the system doesn't want people to know about programs or "qualify" for them.
Politicians write up "feel good" laws, but don't back them with the money. They just set them up to weed out as many people as they can, regardless of whether the applicant is really disabled, or a undeserving con artist. In fact, the con artists are more likely to get disablilty than a disabled person, because the bureaucrats expect the person to be able to "sell" themselves somehow. Like if you have a brain aliment you can somehow be a salesman. That makes a lot of fucking sense.
I'm sure there are many diseases we recognize now which were just called hypochondria before. MS, Aids, low level strokes, cancer all had times when even doctors didn't know what they were and undoubtedly diagnosed them as "hypochondria" (some probably still do)
... until the person died from it. "I guess that person was actually sick." (Then again, the doctor probably just said it was "natural causes")If you are not missing a limb or some other obvious outward problem, people just dismiss any medical problems you might have. Just by looking at me you couldn't tell my kidneys don't work or I have severe brain damage. They just think I'm "faking" it. Like I could somehow fake blood tests or brain scans. And of course they don't want me to work because there is no way I could fit into their 40+ hours/week sit at a desk mold. This day and age, people could probably work less than 10 hours per week if there wasn't so much paperwork bureaucracy bullshit and idiots didn't smash down so much on automation. (Automation makes our lives easier) Shitheads. Fine assholes, I'll just sit on my ass until I die. I hope you fuck yourselves into bailout hell with a thorny axe.

Re:Easy
For starters you used words that don't exist. emphatize (possibly you meant emphasize) and amotivated (which basically sounds like an attempt at politically correct bullshit proper use would be unmotivated).
While the common everyday use of any depressant can be severely damaging see: Alcoholism The constrained and controlled use of what is generally considered contraband can be somewhat beneficial under the right circumstances. See MS. Proper control over such drugs would be a much more effective solution instead of outright bans. Most people will follow a law of inconvenience but will break a law if it forbids something they desire to do. See prohibition. -
Re:Can Sun Make MySQL grow up?
But the name. Oh my god, the name. Anything with "my" in front of it sounds like the intended audience is a four year old. "it's mine! my computer. my space. my toybox! I'm special. This is mine!"
So my guess is you would refuse treatment for tuberculosis with mycomycin because it sounds childish?
mycomycin
n 1: a highly unsaturated antibiotic acid obtained from an actinomycete
Mycomycin: a new antibiotic with tuberculostatic properties.
While we're at it, why not tell the former Burmese that calling their country Myanmar was a bad idea ...But hey, I'd rather say MySQL than MS-SQL any day of the week. MS - its a debilitating disease.

Re:Similar TreatmentsMy wife was recently diagnosed with MS.
I am truly sorry about that. My best hopes and wishes go out to you and her. You might want to consider additional treatments.
Again, all my hopes and wishes that you both are able to weather that one shitting disease. -
Re:Can it help Multiple Sclerosis?
I feel your pain - my wife has been diagnosed for nearly 5 years, and has been progressively getting worse, hence my initial post. I think what my hope is that once a treatment/cure is successfuly developed (Tysabri - sp?), then an alternate treatment such as what the article referenced, or treatments that other posters suggested (stem cells) could be used to repair some of the damage.
Until then, I continue to wear my red wristband, labeled "Hope", with the http://nationalmssociety.org/ URL.
