I think the police are out of it now. And no, Mormon jokes aren't illegal, but linking to goatse.cx is. I do not recall any such links on the site, so I doubt that there would be any sort of action against any user on SOS. Yes, the site logs IPs, apache does that.

As for evidence, I think that they were looking more for poor character references to prove that I'm an asshole. I admit to being an asshole every now and then.

I hate to say it, but a wave of 'creative destruction' will soon sweep across our country as Adam Smith predicted. As usual it will be the little guy who loses out.

Its about time we took a leaf out of the European's book, and banned individuals from investing in the stock market, since on the whole, they lack the savvy and intelligence to get out when the going is good.

Sure sites like the Motley Fool and CNN Finanical news and NASDAQ can provide valuable information, but does the general pulblic really have a clue ?

Do any of them know what a PE/G ration means ? I very much doubt it.

These people need to be protected from themselves, by the force of the law.

What do others think ?

Linux really badly needs DirectX support, otherwise, the games developers will give up on it as a platform.

I mean, OpenGL and MESA may be technically superior, but if nobody writes any games for them, Linux will be starved of quality software.

Linux developers need to swallow their pride, and take a trip to microsoft where there is a full and comprehensive spec sheet. I believe its 'open source' too.

All thats getting in the way of a complete directX implementaiton for linux, is the pride of a few developers.

Not everything microsoft does is bad even I can see that(and I hate them!!!).

Ok, it's really easy to get the attention of developers. You just need to figure out where they hang out.
The kernel mailing list is a bad choice since it's read by thousands of M$ spies. The kernel developers know this, so that's why they post misleading and erroneous mailings there. It's all about subterfuge.
So if they're not on kernel-dev, where are they?
Simple you moron, they're reading slashdot. They use /. as a covert channel to discuss the kernel. You haven't noticed since they use steganography to hide their messages from m$. It's true - vladinator is actually hans reiser, spiralx is alan cox, trollaxor is ingo molnar and magenta syringe is linus.
They use the   entities and goatse links to communicate in a form of morse code. Try viewing source - it's informative.
Anyway, now that you know where to find the kernel developers, you need to get their attention. This is easy since linux hackers are only interested in one thing: Natalie Portman.

Instead they seem more interested in "eye-candy" which I guess is ok, but I think DirectX support for Linux would be much more impressive. After all, how difficult can it be ? Its just an API, which Microsoft even give away on their website: DirectX 7.0 API

I guess what I'm trying to say, is that it would be almost trivial for a Linux guru to port Direct X to Linux I am just amazed nobody has thought to do it yet.

All the algorithm needs is one or two definitive search terms, like the person's first name, and clues to the other items, like a guess at the last name or street, plus a probability associated with each search criteria.

Is it just me, or is this a prime example of the kind of shit people will swallow if the word "quantum" is prefixed to it? It's quite obvious that this search algorithm depends on someone being able to attach probabilities of correctness to their own statements, a proposition which looks to be in very dodgy epistemic standing. If you're reduced to guessing, how are you going to be able to guess (accurately, perforce -- GIGO hasn't been repealed here) how accurate your own wild-assed guess is?
