Take it up w/ Timothy then, lol!
"The summary was wrong, dumbass. Check the date. If Timothy wrote that (it may have been in the original story submission for all I know) it was after 3.6.2 was ALREADY released... old, OLD news!" - by clone53421 (1310749) on Monday April 05, @01:29PM (#31736324)
See the post date of this article, & timothy stating FF wasn't fixed at the time of the posting (or my PS below)... simple!
HOWEVER: THERE IS NO COVERING YOUR SCREWUP ON OPERA 10.51 ALREADY HAVING BEEN OUT, vs. your "security company" info. on an OLD VERSION OF OPERA 10.50 when 10.51 was out already before timothy posted his news here...
Pretty simple: All the libel, name tossing & other "geek angst" you're displaying? Give away the fact you blew it... face it, & the proof's below in your own words, quoted.
APK
P.S.=> You cannot cover your numerous errors with FUD & BS like changing the subject (and of course, your libelling me too, along with your "geek angst" name calling directed my way constantly here, which of course, only shows HOW BADLY YOU BEAT YOURSELF (you did the job FOR ME, see your errors below)):

AND, what did the news poster TIMOTHY WRITE? Well, ok, another quote of proof:
"Note: the warning (from the Federal Office for Information Security) is provisional, and should be rendered moot by the release later this month of 3.6.2. - Posted by timothy on Tuesday March 23, @02:51AM

Errors did you in, changing subject doesnt help
See subject-line (also, neither does your libelling me either).
So, to answer the question you stated? OK, I'll help you out!
I show ZERO THREAT LEVELS in my application @ Computer Associates in fact (call Greg Jensen himself the head of CA's SECURITY SUITE (he'll know who I am & what this is about (easiest proof I can offer in fact is this, because I can't put up attached files here for those scans you ask for))
Why zero threats in my app @ CA (the source of all this in fact)?
Well - because I took CA's 21 point removal test, & passed EVERY question is why)!
So you know, again - plus, again, the same has happened to Dr. Mark Russinovich of Microsoft (he & I used to do work for Sunbelt software @ the same time in the mid to late 1990's in fact, & I helped HE out of bugs in his pagedefrag.exe program, & he thanked me in email for it no less), plus, Nir Sofer of NIRSOFT had it happen on a LOT of his wares (which sux, because his wares are quite useful & NOT spywares)...

Man, face it - You LOSE! The data of your errors in my PS below shows all your screwups... face the music pal, see below:

You made an error, right from the start, that led to yet another error (or was it a LIE about getting data on Opera from a "SECURITY COMPANY"? You got an OLD ERROR on Opera 9.23, from years ago, FROM OPERA'S WEBSITE - not a security company as you said & tried to pass off as current no less)... anyhow, on FireFox? This article was about FF 3.6 having a major bug, & the german gov't. warned its people to use another webbrowser (not IE or FF though) - read the above. Now, what did YOU say it was??

First of all, see the quote again, from the article itself @ the top of my reply, it is 3.6 the article here on
/. was about!AND? Well - note what version YOU SAID IT WAS?
2.62??
Again - The article is about 3.6, not 3.62 (though they stated, in plain black & white above, that 3.63 would be released in the future/later (at the time of the writing of the article/report here on this website, which was about FF 3.6, not 3.62 & certainly NOT 2.62 as you wrote, lol!)).

THUS, the article IS ABOUT VERSION 3.6 when it was written, & that it had a serious bug! Hence, why Germany warned about using FF to its people... troll, you're not even GOOD @ trolling.

Re:Firefox could actually be blind-sided by this
Do you happen to know of a HOWTO or anything for doing this and integrating it with Opera? If you don't have one handy don't bother looking or anything, I just thought you might have run across one. A very quick and cursory Google search didn't turn up anything that looks immediately promising to me.
I don't know of anyone who has done it so far. I've wasted several hours trying to get DirectShow GStreamer wrapper working (it's in gst-plugins-bad), but that didn't lead me anywhere. Now that I've found out that it's ffmpeg, I might want to try again.
The problem there is that they use their own GStreamer build, which seems to be built with library names (e.g. gstreamer.dll rather than libgstreamer.dll), compiler switches etc not compatible with stock Win32 builds from http://gstreamer.net/ - so you can't just download ffmpeg binaries from the latter and drop them in. You need to get Opera's version and makefiles first, and then compile ffmpeg within that.
If/when I get that working, I'll share it (I'm residing in Canada, so there should be no need to worry about software patents for me).

IE9 on SVG Test Suite
If you look at Haavard's blog on the Opera site, you will find a reference to run of the SVG 1.1 Test Suite on IE9. In contrast to Microsoft's SVG test suite (of about 104 individual tests in 7 areas), the W3C's test suite has 275 tests, each of which typically has a dozen or so subtests. On the standard test, IE9 passed 28.36 % of the tests. All other browsers are above 60%. Once SVG becomes viable, I expect that all of the other browsers will quickly advance into the 90%+ range. Opera is already well above 90%. So I welcome IE9 into the SVG crowd, but they are far behind the competition.
A skeptic, that is to say, anyone who can recall Microsoft's behavior over the past 20 years, might wonder if Microsoft ran the official SVG test suite on all competing browsers to find areas where they failed. They then built a second test where they know the others will fail. The developers then focused on implementing them correctly in IE9. This would give them bragging rights when they ran their specially crafted SVG test that focussed on these areas. But it would not help improve interoperability if they grade themselves on a new test, rather than the W2C test suite. I hope I a wrong, but like the little boy who cried wolf, Microsoft has a history of misleading the community.

But, of course, you realize that which browser you are using is probably the least of your concerns, when it comes to connecting with your company's network. Are these phones compatible, in all respects, including the security software?
Best thing to do is, ASK YOUR IT PEOPLE!!

Re:Meh
http://www.opera.com/business/partners/#Contentpartner
google pays opera to be the default search engine, same as firefox.
I am sure Apple is paid by google to be the default search as well, and thus is the dilemma, will apple relinquish a tiny little bit of the profit for user experience? doubtful...
I am sure Opera also has a default home page that gives a preferred nod to yahoo/google content for money as well. -
Re:Meh
But if that is indeed what they're doing, I dunno how they deal with animating elements (which would require the entire layout to be recalculated frame-by-frame).
They just send a server request to update the page. Because of that, they only support rather limited DOM manipulation, for example.
It's definitely not a full-featured browser. That said, it's still good enough to read Slashdot. I'm not sure what's its purpose on a phone with a proper browser, but on my Nokia 6300 (which only does J2ME), it's a godsend.

Re:Meh
Opera's website is not entirely clear about how Opera Mini works, but I think the parent is pretty much correct. The servers that support Opera Mini run the same rendering engine that is used in the desktop version of Opera, and the CSS features which Opera Mini supports are limited by the graphics system running on these servers. This suggests pretty strongly to me that the HTML+CSS is indeed rendered to an image server-side.

Re:Opera Marketing Win
wow... there goes my bankaccount...
It's encrypted between Opera's proxy server and the target website, but not between your phone and Opera's server.
From their Opera Mini FAQ:
If you do not trust Opera Software, make sure you do not use our application to enter any kind of sensitive information.
