I think you mean:
http://www.other90.com/
It's been around for a long time, butnever took off, still not sure what to think of that... -
Someday soon ... circa 1996
Does anyone remember the MindDrive being marketed by The Other 90%??
Given the utter lack of information at their website, here's an archived link from CNN.
Ah the beginnings of the first tech bubble..

BIOGAMEWhy not go one step better? Instead of getting a head mouse there are gaming consoles that work on thought alone. i.e MINDDRIVE"
I would love to see this tool modded for use with other things..

The 'ol minddrive.
I once looked at a place called other90, http://www.other90.com/ I never made up my mind if that was for real, and thought their kit was too expensive to find out. Anyone ever try their kit?

Re:something similar years ago?
It was called MindDrive from a company called Other 90% Technologies. It was released about 10 years ago but apparently you can still buy it from the company in Italy for about $300.

This device has been around for a long time.
From the website:
"How works MindDrive sensor mouse
Thanks to special metal-plastic materials the sensor weighs only just 18 grams. It includes 6 electronic pick-up that read 70 different types of bio-electrical signals coming from nervous, respiratory and circulatory systems. Now is possible to carry out medical-scientific applications for monitoring and diagnosis, as well as therapeutical, creative, didactic and entertainment ones already known, on which pluck artistical drawing, musical composition, truth-machine, and enjoying videogames such as ski, bowling and flipper driven with thought. Moreover with the new powerful development titles M S D K (MindDrive Sofwtare Development Kit) and M T K (MindDrive Tool Kit) is now possible to create customized programs in C / C++ code or straight in easy VisualBasic code." -
Mind driveThis reminds me of another technology, called Mind Drive. You stick your finger in a gadget and it measures your brain waves, and responds accordingly. If you think "up" it goes "up". They actually have a bunch of games that they've been testing it on. I personally tried it out, and it worked but was somewhat inconsistent (it takes practice).
Check it out for yourself.
Unfortunately, I don't think there is a port for linux yet..
