    This reminds me a lot of an advertisement in the Solo of Fortune magazine released for the Cyberpunk pen & paper RPG.

    "Russian cyberleg not pretty, but no matter when kick hole in tank, yes?"

    Athas.org also exists as the Dark Sun equivalent. There's a spelljammer.org as well.

    I think they're semi-official, in that Wizards acknowledges them and allows them to post their conversion materials, with the stipulation of keeping fluff to a minimum. Basically, you still need the original 2e stuff for the full effect (which are still offered as PDF, as well as being fairly easy to find on eBay and at any hobby store with any sort of collection of old stuff).

    It's also worth noting that, during Paizo's run, they printed not one but three "old-setting"-themed issues, with articles on Planescape, Dark Sun, Spelljammer, Ravenloft, etc. Here's a listing of Planescape-related articles in Dragon. These, of course, are official, but it's worth noting that they also usually contradict the stats published in the websites above.

    About a year ago, I shoved my name into Google and was suprised to come across an entry for myself in the Pen and Paper RPG database from an article I wrote for Dragon Annual 5. I never bothered trying to update them with my bio or the other articles I wrote for Dragon because I figured no one ever read the thing.

    Since this posting is the first reference I ever came across for the PPRPGDB, I'm wondering if perhaps I should take a couple of minutes and update the entry. Does anyone out there actually use the thing? Should I bother?

    Longtime game designer Matt Forbeck is running Human Head's paper game studio. Matt co-founded Pinnacle Entertainment (publisher of Deadlands: The Weird West and his own superhero RPG Brave New World) and has also written tons of good stuff for a dozen other publishers. I'm confident he'll do an excellent job with this new venture. (Matt is prolific in another way, too -- he's the father of quadruplets!)
