Re:Clarity in reporting please.
From: http://www.peppermints.com/penguinmints.asp
The idea for Penguin LightsTM, was conceived while carpooling to an early morning sales meeting The routine was familiar: Each day fueled by Penguins Brett and I would get up, go to work, and dominate the mint industry.
Running extremely early one day, and already having completed a weeks worth of work by 8:00 am Tuesday, Brett, steely eyed and deep in concentration, mentioned how awesome it would be if he could relax when he wasn't being so productive.
Picking up a tin of Penguin Caffeinated Peppermints, he turned to me and said, "You know I'd probably have an easier time relaxing if we could somehow remove the caffeine from these birds"
The proverbial light bulb shone overhead, and we realized we had a new one. The concept of a decaffeinated mint would shake the foundations of modern society!
So without further ado we present Penguin Lights-The Original Decaffeinated PeppermintsTM. All the genuine Penguin flavor and 100% caffeine free. -
Re:well.....Two pills is equivalent to 2 cups of coffee.
I see, and how much coffee is one pill equivalent to?
As an aside, I prefer Penguin Mints. Approximately 14 mg each (3 mints = 1 can of Coke), so you get a much lower dose, but they're also some of the tastiest mints I've ever had, so I'd probably buy them even without the caffeine. -
Penguins!I like chocolate covered coffee beans too, but they don't really have a lot of caffeine per volume. For a quick boost, I like Penguin brand caffeinated peppermints, or Penguin Reds (caffeinated cinnamons) for variety.
Three give you the same caffeine as a Coke, a box will enable you to see in the dark. And the penguins on the tin are just so cute!!!

Penguins.
Time to stock up on some Penguins. Man, I love those things... crunch three or four and it's the same caffeine as a cup of coffee, and your breath is freshened too!

Re:Get your caffeine somewhere else! For that matter, what about Penguin Mints? Or Coke? Or all that other caffeinated stuff?
I'm wondering if the study's confusing the effects of caffeine with the effects of all the other alkaloids and stuff present in coffee. If they're not, boy, am I screwed

Re:Caffine!
You forget, my friend..carbonated sodas aint the only source of caffiene.
If I was going into space..i'd keep my suply of Penguin Mints high. -
how am I supposed to know?
This is the age of information age and the new economy. How is a gear head supposed to know now what toys he or she desires in three months time?
The only solution is to go for the tried and true classics.
The best of which are Penguin brand caffeinated peppermints and Jolt cola.

...steroids -- No. No. No.
The correct idiom is "Unix on Viagra."
In this forum, however, "Unix on "Penguin Mints" would also be accepted.

That's a long time.
I can get my nicotine now but have to wait till 2025 to get my vitamins. Something's wrong here.
(I'm sure that this has been mentioned, but since Andover.Net owns ThinkGeek it seems in really bad taste to link to them instead of directly to the Penguin Mints's actual homepage http://www.peppermints.com/storytime/index.htm.) -
Penguin MintsInstead of the link the poster put to some site selling penguin mints, how about posting the actual site for penguin mints?? That site would be www.peppermints.com

PS: I loved those Penguin Caffeinated Peppermints very much,
which they distributed at LinuxWorld.
So if there still were any doubts, count me in :) -
Spam spam spam spam
- But most people can afford to invest (reasonably heavily) in Redhat's shares, I suppose?
- Network traffic costs money no matter where you are on the planet.
Now, there are metered services at the commercial level, but I'd vigorously argue that blocking streaming media and graphics-heavy sites (hey, make everyone use Lynx!
:-) would make much more difference than eliminating Spam. -
LD50 Dosage for CaffieneThe LD50 (Lethal-Dose 50%) for 1,3,7-trimethylxanthine (caffiene) is as follows:
"...However, in man the toxic dose of caffiene is so large (over 10 grams) that human fatality is unlikely."
The preceding quote was taken from The Pharmocological Basis of Therapeutics, written by Louis S. Goodman and Alfred Gilman.
I also know this from personal experience. One day in the fine educational facility that I attend, I was wandering through the closet in the english room, when I happened upon about 900 grams of pure reagent grade 1,3,7-trimethylxanthine (caffiene).
In the recent past, I had grown accustomed to Penguins (caffienated peppermints).
Well, the local store was out of Penguins, so I decided to make my own. I went behind a partitioned wall with my ordinary peppermints and my big-ass bottle of pure reagent-grade caffiene and sprinkled about 3 grams of caffiene on the mints.
Well, suffice it to say that this is not advisable. But hey, you live and learn.
