We have the full movie and its parts for both 1 and 2 in Quicktime, and we have Part 1 (full/parts) in AVI as well.
We've got a 45 megabit connection to the internet and 100 megabit to Abilene (Internet 2) so leech away!
Merry Christmas!
A project such as this does such a good job of exposing users to the methodologies of the black hat community. This is a great project for anyone who has even been hacked or might be hacked in the future. Its an excellent idea to play with a compromised system to see what one looks like, what gets "messed with" and what needs to be fixed.
It was Cellular One. I participated in the beta test for them. I only bought one CD (whuch they gave me for free for testing). The service really sucked. It took about 5 mins to complete the order, and the process was quite cumbersome. VERY dangerous if you were driving. And worst of all, after the beta period, they were going to charge AIRTIME for the call! Plus, the CD was $22 from them ($14 at local store, $11 online). Buyer beware.
A disgruntled student turned in my High School in 1998 for allegedly having more installs of software than we had licenses for. The BSA sent a certified letter stating that we had to do a full audit and prove we had licenses for everything or they would come in and raid us, that non-complience was enough evidence for a search warrant, etc, etc. Our lawyers seemed to agree that it was within their rights. Luckily, we had all the licenses, but I don't think that is quite legal. I can see the FBI doing that, but this is a private company.
Seems like this is a great way to "get even" with someone, because even if they are licensed, it takes many, many, many hundreds of hours of work, even for a school with 120 computers.
Personally, I love my IIIc ($399 retail) for showing color photos on the run, but for a beginning user, the M100 ($149 retail) would be great. Also, some of the Visor models are quite nice too, and they are upgradable with lots of gadgets. This gift works for everyone, as most people have the need to store addresses, calendars, shopping lists, etc, etc, etc. (Just make sure to get extra batteries (or an extra cradle charger)!)
If you connect this a Palm VII, with the unlimited service, this would be very, very, cool. Its like mpaquest + "where the hell am i", and useful for trips, hiking, and even airplanes (does the Palm.net service work in the air, and do the airlines let you use it?).
Try Yahoo! Calendar (http://calendar.yahoo.com/). It uses the TrueSync Client (for windows) and pulishes your calendar (right from the Palm Calendar app) to the web. You can share items from the calendar with other users on yahoo. Drawbacks are that you can't run your own server, and that the client is for windows only (as of a few months ago).
No one really has 94 tins of Altoids. However, Penguin Mints come in tins about the same size, and I DO have a growing collection. Mmmm....penguin mints....caffeine...must have caffeine.... C A F F E I N E
but what it DOESN'T say is whether I can cancel the service after the first 30 days. If so, than who the hell cares if it's an extra $22.00. Also, I'd like to see them go after people for moding them. You are buying the hardware, not leasing it. It's yours. Throw it off a bridge, install linux....its your choice!
I understand there is a problem with the moderating system. It lacks an option which indicates 'false-inflation'. Some comments are not worthy of being hire than 1. If some lame moderator puts down "insightful", if it really was only wasted text, you are left with calling it "troll" or "off-topic".
Actually, the moderation system has 2 options for "underrated" and "overrated".
Actually, i submitted it like two days ago. What probably happened is that it was put into the queue to wait for a slow news period (like a sunday morning).
The slashdot keyboard...it has * 4 hot keys for favorite sites, defaults to/., freshmeat, jennicam and userfriendly * a "submit story" button * a "first post" button (ac version only) * a "first post" button (ac version only) * an lcd karma counter (login version only) B. coming soon to an e-tailer near you....only $59.95 (or 3 shares of ANDN)
Uhmm, this makes no sense, really, as 3Com just mjerged with USR a few years back. But, on closer inspection, it does make some sense, as a lot of high tech companies are seperating their R&D departments from their sales and marketing departments. AT&T did that with Lucent, and HP with Agilent. I guess that 3com is implying that USR will be its "R&D" arm, while 3com will be its sales/marketing arm. In that case, the Palm spinoff/IPO makes sense, too.
What about setting up something similar to mysql? You could then enter all of this info into a database, and access/update it using AvantGo for the Palm or CE device.

I posted this story, including a link to the Exploratorium Pi Day Page, very early this morning, (read: 12:05am EST), and it was rejected. What are the criteria for posting these day? BTW: If you are in SF Bay area, definatly go to the Exploratorium, i was in CA last year and went, it was really fun.
Check with your local LUG (or *UG) or local "mom and pop" ISP. Many will host non-profit sites very low cost or even free. And these types of providersare very easy to work with, and will offer much help with config, admin, etc. My best friend has a BSD server colocated that i could host the site for you, I'd be glad to work with you. (Email me if you are interested.)
