Re:So what
Oh puleez. People have been hacking and modding consoles for ages. Here's a great video of a hack of Guitar Hero 2 for the PS2 with a modchip. The song is meh, but the performance is captivating:

Either you're a PCbigot or a troll or an idiot. I'd guess all-of-the-above. -
Re:To be quite honest
Israel hasn't sworn to the destruction of any other states or ethnic groups.
And who has exactly?
How about this:

Re:Donald Rumsfeld Pic
Do you really think that you could stab Rumsfeld? Clearly you are unfamiliar with his renowned prowess in the martial arts.
-
Awesome writeup of the effects...
...this would have on the Earth at close range, courtesy a really smart guy who posted on POE News.

Re:You gotta be kidding me.Yeah, but Cheney is the VP; the appropriate point of comparison is the Lich-King, Donald Rumsfeld.
Rumsfeld may not be able to shoot a gun, but his kung-fu is unstoppable.

Are we to equate a worker on an assembly line to the punk messsing up my order at McDonalds? Saying fast food workers are part of the manufacturing sector is a clever way to say that America is gaining manufacturing jobs. Too bad it's like Enron filing debits to collectors as assets. -
Re:As an outsider...
Actually, what Miller did was give a passionate speech about an issue and BACKED IT UP WITH FACT.
What facts did he use to back up this, the central point of his speech:
No one should dare to even think about being the Commander in Chief of this country if he doesn't believe with all his heart that our soldiers are liberators abroad and defenders of freedom at home.
Yes, he did list weapons which Kerry had voted against. He also did note that, "As a war protester, Kerry blamed our military." However, he failed to list any facts to support his the idea that the "soldiers are liberators abroad and defenders of freedom at home", and he failed to list any facts to support the notion that anybody applying for the job of CINC should believe this.
While Kerry's voting record regarding the war has been well-publicised, I am not aware of any facts that are as well publicised that indicate that the war is a necessary thing. Since that point was central to his thesis, Miller should have listed facts to back that up.
If I tell you that washing machines cause cancer, and back it up by giving the cancer mortality rate, I haven't addressed the issue that washing machines cause cancer. I've only explained why cancer is bad.
Fortunately, the text of Miller's speech is available online.
As for the interview afterwords, that fat pig chris mathews had it coming to him after he AMBUSHED a fine young reporter named Michelle Malkin a few nights before and basically screamed at her for the whole interview. Old Zell was just being man and fighting for that poor girl.
Whether Matthews deserved a tongue lashing from Sen. Miller or not because of his actions with Malkin is up for debate, but Miller wasn't chastising Matthews for his actions re Malkin until the end of the interview. He was behaving quite aggressively before bringing that up.
MATTHEWS: Jim Jeffords switched parties after getting elected.
MILLER: If you're going to ask a question...
MATTHEWS: Well, it's a tough question. It takes a few words.
MILLER: Get out of my face.
MILLER: If you are going to ask me a question, step back and let me answer.
(LAUGHTER)
MATTHEWS: Senator, please.
MILLER: You know, I wish we...
MILLER: I wish we lived in the day where you could challenge a person to a duel.
MILLER: Now, that would be pretty good. Don't ask me--don't pull that...
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: Can you can come over? I need you, Senator. Please come over.
MILLER: Wait a minute. Don't pull that kind of stuff on me, like you did that young lady when you had her there, browbeating her to death. I am not her. I am not her. That was the first time that Miller brought up Malkin. He expressed a desire to challenge Matthews to a duel prior to Malkin becoming an issue.
Again, the entire transcript is available online, so everybody can read the whole thing and make up their own minds.

Ads for nerds. Stuff that sucks.Wow, does anybody actually go to the ilovebees.com link at Slashdot? In about 10 seconds you can tell that this is a marketing ploy. Fucking flash animation pops up and starts talking about "SYSTEM PERIL DISTRIBUTED REFLEX" and gives a fucking countdown. Jesus Christ on a Stick, do you honestly think that ANY webmaster wouldn't have pulled their fucking site from the 'net if something like that happened?
IT'S FUCKING FLASH ANIMATION. Free advertising by starting an astroturf campaign to "figure out what went wrong". Here's a hint of what went wrong - Slashdot no longer reads its submissions with a critital eye.
It's as bad as Acclaim's pigeons, their "Name your kid Turok" marketing shit, and who can forget their tombstone advertisements?
It's time to wake up, Slashdot, and not get duped by these obvious ploys for free advertisement.

Re:Use a common password too
A lot of sites do this, with PoE-News using a PoeNews@poe-news.com / poenews as a login/password for stupid news sites (I'm looking at you NYT!) which make you register and identify.

Re:DO NOT INHALE HELIUM!
I suppose the Compressed Gas Association is spouting Urban Legends too.
Go tell the parents of this kid that inhaling helium is perfectly harmless.
Afterwards, you can talk to the parents of this other kid and tell them that helium-related deaths are an urban legend.
Feel free to read this first person account of what it's like to experience an urban legend.
Next time you post on slashdot, make sure you know what the hell you are talking about, and that you at least know how to spell "poisonous".

Why the self-loathing?
I absolutely agree that being a US ally isn't something to be proud of.
Why? Who is a good nation to be an ally of? France? Oops... looks like they're involved in their latest little genocide matter in Africa. Hey, what's a few million dead anyway when they're black or jew as long as a Frenchman is making a buck?
Germany? My friends in Germany worry me with their desire to blame the Holocaust on the Jews. These are some deep rooted issues that are beginning to crop up again. This has long been a popular middle eastern view, but now it's taking a mainstream role in Germany (the code phrase is "we've dealt with this guilt long enough" which is the dominant attitude in German generations under 50 years of age). Is this what Hitler meant by a 1,000 year Reich?
China? The same government takes first place for total tens of millions exterminated in the 20th century. Oh, they now let you shop for consumer goods before they exterminate your family for religious or political beliefs. Unless you're Tibetian, and then you just get to die.
So who's the great nation? Lichtenstein? Switzerland? Hans Blix's Sweden? Appeasing and abstaining from taking a part in countering evil is not an ingredient in greatness (nobody ever nominated the "Hear No Evil, See No Evil" monkeys for a leadership post outside of the UN!). Canada comes up at the top of this unfortunate list.
Ah... the Sudan! Yes, nominated to the UN human rights council. Must be a great nation recognizing individual liberty and all (oh sure, as long as your Muslim - those other people /aren't really human/ so there's no human rights violatin' going on!)
Marillion, here's a suggest that'll make your life much more enjoyable (not to mention the life of those that have to put up with you). How about PROposing rather than OPposing? Quit bitching about those you're envious of and either decide to outdo them in good works, or accept that you're a parasite and deal with the consequence.
Per former eastern Europe allies of the US, they deserve our greatest respect. Nations like Latvia fought and died for freedom throughout the 20th century, only to be oppressed repeatedly. No wonder they can tell right from wrong, while a western will surrender his life and liberty at the slightest threat. -
Re:Great
Perhaps he was moreso referring to other countries like Sweden. In the US there is a huge difference between the rich and the poor. In Sweden the majority earn a very comfortable living, everyone gets the benefit of world leading education and a top notch healthcare system.
Sweden as a country doesn't screw anyone, and everyone gets a fair chance at a good life.
This Scandinavian fairness is best reflected in the fines here for speeding, they are given as a percentage of income, so when a bigwig in Nokia was fined for speeding he recieved a 100,000 euro fine.
Thats fairness. -

Re:but it's more humane!
They do realize the bird's final destination, right?
Let me give the clueless a hint: the other end of the sucking machine.
Then, it all goes to to packaging and distribution.
Hmmm!
Finger-licking good.
