Re:not true.
You would think they'd fix the translation. But no, years later we still have:
http://www.president.ir/en/10114
Or are you claiming Fox news runs the Iranian President's web site?

Re:Treat ain't worth the paper its written on
Iran launches one at Isreal, in which case it is 100% Iran's fault.
-Or-
Isreal launches one at Iran, in which case it is 100% Iran's fault. The logic there is amazing. For the record, I'm not trying to say that it's 100% Isreal's fault either. Just trying to point out that it's a bit more complicated that your statement seems to imply.

Re:containment theory...
China has not and will not become militarily aggressive. They are 100% economically focused.
Iran? Uh....not so much.

No, Iran is not offline
No, Iran is not offline.
http://english.khamenei.ir/
http://www.president.ir/fa/
very much online ( the sites are hosted in Iran).
Get a life, CmdrTaco, I expected at least you to check the news you post.
Anyway, if Iran were to be under attack or large scale action would be planned against it, I would not be posting here, but I would be jumping up and down in the field in full gear and shouting at my platoon, since any time there is big in our area, and Iran is not terribly far and this would be big trouble indeed, we find out first.
I get the feeling somebody wants really hard that there should be a war between USA and Iran, and that the one who wants it it's not USA. That, or the /. users that post these stories and the admins who approve them had hit their head when they were very young.
now go mod me troll -
Re:Third cut?
Sir, you are absolutely right and should be modded up.
Irna.ir is hosted in US, California.
Baztab.com is hosted in Texas.
Iran Dayly is hosted in California.
and so on ...
I think if somebody wants to disable the Iranian propaganda machine they would have to cut off from the internet not Iran, but United States. Kind of ironic.
Still:
http://www.khamenei.ir/ is hosted in Iran and is was up yesterday, and still is
http://www.president.ir/fa/ is also hosted in Iran and was up, and still is -
Re:a little tweakAhmadinejad would like to see the second coming of the 12th Imam
And Bush believes in the rapture. What's your point? We're rating superstitious beliefs now?
May I also suggest you look up his speech where he says that Israel should be wiped off the map
Geez, get your head out of the MSM's arse, would you?
Date: Sun, 23 Apr 2006 15:34:18 -0400 From: "Cole, Juan"
The speech in Persian is here:
Sorry that I misremembered the exact phrase Ahmadinejad had used. He made an analogy to Khomeini's determination and success in getting rid of the Shah's government, which Khomeini had said "must go" (az bain bayad berad). Then Ahmadinejad defined Zionism not as an Arabi-Israeli national struggle but as a Western plot to divide the world of Islam with Israel as the pivot of this plan.
The phrase he then used as I read it is "The Imam said that this regime occupying Jerusalem (een rezhim-e ishghalgar-e qods) must [vanish from] from the page of time (bayad az safheh-ye ruzgar mahv shavad)."
Ahmadinejad was not making a threat, he was quoting a saying of Khomeini and urging that pro-Palestinian activists in Iran not give up hope-- that the occupation of Jerusalem was no more a continued inevitability than had been the hegemony of the Shah's government.
Whatever this quotation from a decades-old speech of Khomeini may have meant, Ahmadinejad did not say that "Israel must be wiped off the map" with the implication that phrase has of Nazi-style extermination of a people. He said that the occupation regime over Jerusalem must be erased from the page of time.
Again, Ariel Sharon erased the occupation regime over Gaza from the page of time.
Iran really is suicidal
Thank you for diagnosing an entire country. I'm sure your pioneering work will receive the acclaim it deserves.
I think he spells it out pretty clearly.
No, you just need to clean the shit out of your ears. -
Re:I dunno...
I speak some Farsi. Would you like me to translate what he actually said?
Firstly, the Farsi word for 'map' ("nagsheh") was never used. Nor was the word 'Isreal'. A more literal translation of one passage would be "Jerusalem must/will vanish from the pages of time".
Another passage means: "The establishment of the Zionist regime was a move by the world oppressor against the Islamic world,". The difference between Isralies and Zionists is left as an excercise to the student. Hint: It's the same difference as between 'Americans' and 'Neo-Conservatives'.
If you speak some Farsi, feel free to visit the original speech, and read it for yourself:

Re:True LiesI am still waiting to hear a Muslim condemnation of 9/11/01.
You must not be looking very hard.
Egypt:Ahmed Fathy Sorour, Speaker of People's Assembly denounced what he termed as a criminal act against the US people
Iran: Iran denounces massive attacks on U.S., expresses sympathy with victims Tehran, Sept 11, IRNA
Jordan The people of Jordan join the people of the United States in our absolute condemnation of the terrorist aggression against your nation
Organization Of The Islamic ConferenceDr. Belkeziz said he was denouncing and condemning those criminal and brutal acts that ran counter to all covenants, humanitarian values and divine religions foremost among which was Islam
Turkey:President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit conveyed their condolences to the US President Bush condemning the terrorist attacks and stating that Turkish nation felt the pain of the American people
Saudi Arabia:The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemned "the inhuman bombings and attacks" which took place today at the two-tower World Trade Centre in Manhattan, New York, and at the Pentagon, Washington D. C., the United States
What I haven't seen, is any Muslims taking credit for the attacks or celebrating them. -
Karma whore reply...This sux since the first cybercafe in Tehran was only opened 3 years ago. It is still the only cybercafe at net cafe guide. Of course, from nmit at Georgetown, there doesn't appear to be much internet access available besides the internet cafes. Of course, this is why the government is restricting it, because it is a stranglehold. Don't fear, because there are many other reasons to visit Tehran if you are interested in a vacation.
Heh, Please mod me up!!
