Re:Correction
I think you mean publicradiofan.com. publicradiofan.org is a domain squatter.

Re:Here We Go Again
PublicRadioFan.com is a great site to help find some good NPR/PRI/CBC/BBC/etc stations broadcasting whatever show you wanna happen to listen to...

One more suggestion.
For those who don't mind finding ways to download streaming content -

Re:Meh - American Radio is beyond hope
Best place to find streaming public radio (NPR PRI BBC CBC

Re:NPR
Try This.
I used to buy a monthly subsription to "Talk of the Nation - Science Friday" through Audible.com until I found that site. ...That reminds me I ought to look at audible and see if there are any subscriptions worth getting that I can't get by podcast.

Re:Reality Check
Just like blogs, there are gems. Plus existing programs work better as podcasts than broadcasts.
IT Conversations (Doug Kaye project), is a top notch Podcasting source. (ok, it was around before the rage about podcasting, but podcasting made it integrate with my life).
Public Radio Fan also has a list of many podcasts that were radio programs - enabling you to listen to your favorite programs on your own time.
I hope all of NPR's programs become available as podcasts as I enjoy listening but don't live on their schedule. -
Re:Public Radio International's lineup of shows
Also, don't forget PublicRadioFan.com, which lists a HUGE number of NPR streams available on the internet, searchable by program, time, and stream-type, making it easy to find the perfect stream to rip).

Here's some for you.

Re:Online Radio Content?
Public Radio Fan is a great site that I've been using for a while. Highly recommended, as it's very versatile and lets you select which format you want to stream for each show/station.

Re:Time shifting radio?
I can only imagine this would be useful for talk radio... I mean... what would be the point of using this for a top 40 station?
Talk radio would be a possible use, but I also see devices such as these would be good for NPR junkies like myself who love the specialty music programs such as Hearts of Space, Echoes, or Thistle and Shamrock. Just like TV programs, these aren't always aired at convenient times, and it would be nice to record them for later listening or to take to work the following day. Same is true of other specialty music programs, such as many rock stations' local band show.
Of course, I can already do that with the many radio stations that provide streams, StreamRipper, and a cron job.

Re:NPR broadcasts in MP3
My preferred stations (128k stereo, 44.1) are:
WUGA (Athens, Georgia) - live.wuga.org/hi [prairie home companion, thistle and shamrock]
KCSN (Cal State Northridge, Los Angeles) - s072n114.csun.edu:8002 [the swingin years with chuck cecil]
And one in Alaska (64k mono, 44.1)
KCSM (california) - hifi.kcsm.org:8002 [riverwalk, live from the landing]
I've been assembling the Saturday schedule I used to be able to find on my local station, KUSC (which is now all classical all the time :P), with the exception of My Music/My Word. It's kind of a thrill when you donate and have them announce your donation from across the country (donations are a good way of convincing them to upgrade and maintain their high quality streaming mp3 connection.) You can find more stations and programs by going to:
PublicRadioFan.com
which maintains a listing of public radio stations (mp3, real, winmedia, ogg, qt, etc.) across the world.
I really wish more stations would stream higher quality mp3s, although KCSM does offer a 128k ogg stream. Really, if you want to get pledge money, you need to provide a high quality stream in addition to your low-quality streams. You also need to know what you're doing - streaming a 64k 22khz stereo connection is a waste of bandwidth, use that extra 32k channel and stream a much better sounding 64k mono 22khz! -
PublicRadioFan.com
I surf over to Publicradiofan.com and find a station that broadcasts my favorite news program in mp3 format and then use streamripper to rip a copy.
